"I don't tend to find bikes my size in sales with me been 6,3 they just don't make as many big bikes so they sell out quick, yeah I have 105 on my bike now but it's a halfords special so looking to upgrade the frame more than anything, m but ultegra would ideally be on the upgrade too" Don't fall in to the trap of assessing on groupsets. A 105 groupset with kysriums wheels is a better spend than ultegra with askium wheels for similar money.

"Right I'm looking at getting a new push iron, I have round about 1500 quid, Evans cycles are doing a Fuji grand fondo for 1350 reduced from 1800 plus if you take a crap old bike in you get 100 quid off, or I'm looking at ribble/planet x or Merlin all around the same price but the other 3 are mainly ultegra running gear the Fuji is 105, anyone ride any of these bikes? Any advice accepted" Good God why would anyone want to spent that much money on a pushbike!!! You can get a half decent s/hand motorbike for that money or even a little ol runaround car

Use the Ribble bike builder, buy with cheap wheels, decent carbon frame, ultegra and decent finishing kit.

"plenty of large and xl sizes with ultegra flavour at pauls cycles, giants and cannondales ..... or speak to the man above , kinesis and kuoto are very nice frames " Giants are out because every single person I ride with has a giant and I mean everybody, specialized are out too because our Doris has one and couples shouldn't have the same bikes lol

"I have a shop in the Scottish Borders and have done several builds around both Kuota and Kinesis framesets. I know there's always great deals around from the big guys selling off last year's (or even older) stock which, in many cases, are simply cosmetic upgrades from the previous year's stuff. If you're at all interested in taking it further PM me. cheers. D" They sound like they would be a little out of my price range

"Planet X tend to be fantastic value for the spec. Don't have one myself but some friends do and very happy with it. Great customer service too. Ps I ride a Scott. Love it!!!" Scott's look nice but seem quite highly priced for the spec you get compared to other manufacturers
