What did you do on Saturday mornings as a kid?

Me- watched a bit of TV and then off playing footy on Tooting Bec Common or riding my purple Raleigh Chopper

watched Sharky & George then went round and called on my mates, played games like Kerby, Red Rover, went bramble picking

Sometimes we'd build 'bases' using old bits of cardboard and other rubbish we would find.

As an older teenager id probs watch SMTV (Ant, Dec & Cat Deely) then go hang out in the park with friends

Watch TV then mum would take us to MK to the shopping centre...It was in the days when it was a really good shopping centre.. We would then be treated to a fillet of fish and a choc milkshake...

Multi coloured swap shop in my days till 12.15 then my nan would turn it over for the wrestling

Then out in the garden until we were called in for tea and Dukes of Hazzard

Up to the age of 11 we would play out in the morning, then in the afternoon we would go to the pictures to watch the childrens matinee, we where given 10p each. 8p to get in to the pictures and 2p for sweets from the shop next door, i was in charge of my sister.

Then when i got to about 12, used to get dressed up with a bit of makeup on and my friend would call for me and we would go round the makeup counters and then to the "cafe" where a group of us would meet and we would stay there all afternoon, with a drink and probely one portion of chips between a few of us

TISWAS... then off out to my cousins to play on his Atari, or maybe out doing what boys did back then, climbing trees, building dens, or fishing and generally messing about until it started to get dark.

Hard to believe but I was very active and fit as a youngster. I used to go for a run with a friend, we were on school x-country team.

Then it'd be cricket for the local club side followed by an afternoon of messing about in the park. Be it on bikes or tennis.

Oh when things were simpler..........sigh

I had to go help mom do the weekly grocery shop on the bus. if there was enough money left, we got a taxi home and felt like royalty..if it wasn't my turn, I got to watch tiswas or swap shop, some friends around the corner, their dad worked on the tiswas set so we used to get freebies, joke books and stuff.

We did Marks and Spencers in the afternoon and we thought it was so posh. We would get 4 eclairs and have one each. One treat a month in our house

My sister won a tiswas token, it was when you wrote in and her name was announced on the programme. Myself and all the kids in the street where really envious of her. When it arrived it was a £3 token for some department store

I was outside all the time as a child and weekends were no different. Used to go over the park early in the morning and stay out until I was called home for dinner. - Run around, climb trees, go bike riding, build fortes, go and see the horses... If cousins came over they'd come with me.

Went to the shop on afternoon to buy a bounty bar but only had 10p pocket money per week.bounty bar was15p .went home asked mum if I could have 5p she said no.I cryed my eyes out.the good old days eh x

Loved tiswas but I did aikido from ten to two most Saturdays so very rarely saw it

When I was 6 or so, I would get up, get my Chelsea kit on, watch Sally James on Saturday scene and then go out playing with my best mate Barry.

In those days, there was no concern about running around the estate as young kids

Saturday mornings for me growing up meant an early start and crammed in the back of the car with my sister to drive to Worsley (On the way to Manchester) from the Wirral for dancing class where my mum and step dad taught ballroom, latin american and disco. Then private lessons with practise for the competitions on the Sunday. I missed out on all the normal kid stuff - I always say I'm depraved on account of being deprived
