I stopped DJing for a bit, and then got some more gigs recently - been listening to old skool dance & trance to refresh myself in the gym…

I’ve been selecting a song, then hitting “radio” and Spotify has been throwing out some absolute bangers!!!

Not Over Yet - Grace

What a bloody tune!!!!!!

Brothers & Sisters - 2funky2 - more Old Skool… but gets such a good reaction - DJ’d at Cupids Swingers Club for the 1st time a couple of months ago, and played a lot of Old Skool bangers… and I think that’s why they’ve had me back tbh - I play a bit of everything, including Pop, RnB, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s, Disco etc - but anywhere I play - Old Skool Dance, Trance, House, etc… that’s what really brings out the shapes on the dancefloor

Well thats been a bit of a rabbit hole trip to the 90's....only done maybe 20 percent of the digitised collection on quick skip, but

Hardfloor- Acperience

Elevator- Shinny (Niiiiiice!)

Quadripart- Make Love (Acrid Abeyance Remix)

Digital Express- The Club (My favourite way to open a set back then)

Warrior- Warrior (Club mix)

Azzido De Bass- Dooms Night (it was impossible to not slide round the floor dancing like Scooby and Shaggy to this)

Goldtrix/Andrea Brown- Its Love (Trippin) (im possibly staying towards house now, but it’s a tune!

but while we’re in that neighbourhood...

IO- Rapture

And

Matt Darey and Marcella Woods -Beautiful

(Getting back on track)

Emmanuel Top-Tone

Emmanuel Top- Labotomie

V-Tracks- Subway 26

Nalin & Kane- The K People

Shaker- Mooncat (instrumental or vocal version)

Arthur Baker (LEGEND!) Vs Skys the limit- Walking on Sunshine (Techno, Trance, House…its all good with this)

Mrs Woods- Joanna

Space Frog- Xray (this is what you play about 2.30am, after the mid set dip and an hour after many people are on their 2nd or 3rd up- just for that build peak between 3m30 and 4m30- fucking lush!)

Phocus- Don’t Stop (play this about half an hour later when they’re proper Gonzo’d)

The flying pigs- New Ship (Sooooo fucking funky!!!)

Nuyorican Soul- Runaway (even more funkier that the pigs)

Mark NRG- Don’t Stop

"definitely not trance lol"

I was going to look down my nose then dug out my Trance Europe Express discs and they’ve got The Orb and Orbital on there alongside Sysrem7 and The Drum Club.

So on that basis I’ll have Cerceres Ex Novum by Xeper, which was a Black Dog side project.

Or Semi-detached by Orbital.

Or Space Track by Cosmic Baby.
