Wigan or man city ??? Being a wigan lad I'm going for a shock were going down but wigan to lift the cup . I believe .

Thirty years ago.....1982-83 season Brighton lost their only FA Cup final after a replay and were relegated from the First Division as it was known then.

I think history will repeat itself. As far as I know no other team has appeared in the Cup final and relegated in the same season.

watched Wigan at villa and they played them villa off the park and they beat arsenal at the emirates too!

Middlesbrough were beaten by Leicester City in the League cup and Chelsea in the FA cup in 1997.

As for the OP, heart says Wigan but the head says City. But we do love to see a good cup shock. Heres hoping for Wigan 2-1 City

I actually don't mind whom wins this final, but I'll pick Wigan for 2 reasons, first it's always good fun to see the underdog win unless they are playing your team and secondly If Roberto Martinez wins the cup and then becomes Everton manager, it might be the only trophy he wins for years....

Prediction though is City to win 2 - 0

Does anyone know if Wigan have sold out their allocation, or will this be the first cup final with empty seats?

If my memories right Norwich and Sunderland were both relegated in the same season after playing each other in the League Cup Final, I think Norwich won it and were therefore the only team to win a cup final and go down in the same season.

I just wish the FA cup had the gravitas as it used to have. When it was the last match of the footy season and and a 3pm kick off. With so much talk of religations and promotions at the moment the FA cup doesn't feel the same these days. I'd like to see Wigan win and see then them religated by Villa next week.

Morning oh what a night . Only got back into wigan at 230am still went out. One big party up the m6 all singing stuck in traffic . I need a mackies lol . We won the fa cup omg .

Was at Wembley in the Wigan end with one of my best mates and his Dad who played in goal for the Latics about 50 years ago, fantastic. "You put your left leg in, left leg out, in out in out shake it all about, you do the Shaun Maloney and turn around, that's what it's all about!"
