We joined fab back in 2018 and met some great people, lots of fun and friendship over the time. We now moved south to Suffolk and wow its so hard work to find real genuine people to connect a friendship and with the extra fun alongside. Everyone we seem to get messages from are either just in it for a f**k or just chat then disappear before even managing to meet them. All we are wanting is a bit quality over quantity meets but starting to think that's a thing of the past on fab. Anyone with similar experiences?

I agree there are a lot of weird and timewasting people on here now, far more than in the past I think. At the same time, I've had some really good serious contacts in the last few weeks which have restored mny confidence in Fab and myself. It does seem to be quite random and just a matter of luck what happens and when.

It got worse after Covid and the influx of people (mainly males) who discovered it during lockdown. There was always a element of timewasters, cock pic senders, the 5 standard forum subject posters and 5 word message senders; but we must have hit the peak now

I suppose everyone is in it for their own enjoyment. Most men are happy for a quick fuck and go. Women seem to want more of a connection. I find it goes in waves. Sometimes you can't keep up and other times there's nothing.

Careful, calling women deluded isn’t going to improve the odds you know.

To be fair to men, I don’t think it’s always desperation, sometimes it’s just them shooting their shot. I think men can be a bit more flexible with their standards, whereas women often have a clearer idea of what they find attractive and what feels age-appropriate.

For example (and this might sound a bit random), I won’t meet a guy with a goatee And I also wouldn’t meet someone who’s happy to date 18-year-olds, I’m really looking to meet people around my own age.

Fab’s definitely changed as well. The user base feels broader now, more casual users, and more people just dipping their toe in, so I think the way people approach meeting and even sorting through messages has to shift a bit.

Out of curiosity, have you found the type of women you message has changed over the last 16 years, or are you still drawn to a similar kind of person?

Had to find mature couples on the Norfolk coast wasn’t a problem a few years ago plenty of naturist couples at Holkham beach times have changed no one sends a message anymore.

I think there is a lot more of them now and I also think attitudes to sex have normalised a lot more in this country and so the vibe around the site is different, less of a hidden community and more mainstream. But other than that, it seems similar.

My experience on the site is the same, I'm having a lot of fun speaking with people. I personally feel you get out what you put in, but it won't be the same for everyone.

Men appear to be quite aggressive in their requests. "Meet now for a fuck" and there are more people on all the platforms which makes cutting through the noise really difficult.

I would recommend find your tribe, find your connections and watch the noise for those that catch your attention.

I've only been here 3 years and I've noticed a little change. So for example, the amount of ladies accounts (probably not a lady I know) asking for money. I know it is against the site rules but I have had a few random accounts asking me for ££ to buy their pictures and videos.

Since starting work in London and having evening free to spend on here it's been better than the first few years of membership. But it does seem to be getting tough with very few new faces.

I have to disagree with you on the "it's the same on all platforms" comment, because I don't find that to be the case. I do very well getting meets on other apps, one lady in particular I've been seeing for 10 years now, and she's never used Fab....

I don't know how long you've been in here, but you've only 3 veris, the last one from over a year ago. There's a single woman profile local to me, only been here 8 weeks, and she's posted veris from 20 guys already. That's with her limiting her upper age bracket to 45, and stipulating no married/attached guys either. She's certainly 'found her tribe'....

I think Fabs supply and demand creates an arena where women can make demands they wouldn’t in real life. My profile used to include the line a solid 3 out of 10’seeking an 11 but a lot of men took it seriously and would get mad at me for it. Really I was just poking fun at the woke demands we make but I am aware that I get attention that I wouldn’t in real life.

I haven't had much of a pleasant experience since joining tbh but I am a single male, who choses not to have a profile pic fyi, but yes there is a huge demand of supply and demand and a massive unbalance between ladies and men, add to that fact we now have even more fakes (men pretending to be women or AI) and people looking to sell sexual stuff on here. I say be grateful for the good times you had on here..

Fab hasn’t gone downhill, it’s transactional by design as it’s a marketplace of buying and selling.

Everyone’s looking for something but they go about this in different ways. Some (mostly men) actively seek, others (usually women and couples) put out bait and hope the right people come to them.

It’s just a filtering tool. You get the real vibes and connections in person say at clubs, parties and socials for example.
