So then, we all want to look our best in photos. Would you take multiple pics and pick the best one, leaving how it was taken or just one is needed, and filters can do the rest!?

I just put a picture up. When I.have my profile open there just.happy snappy. Can't see why people use filters as they are going to see you in real life unless your snagging in pitch black

A bit of both. Take multiple photos, pick the best one and then use filters to make it look even better although technology can only go so far

I take a still from a video now, I usually have to lighten them thats about it for me, I have only just got the hang of blurring backgrounds, anything more advanced than that I have no idea.

I don't really know how to use fillers. It's something I should get used to but I'm not even sure what half of them do.

I don’t see the point in filters. I’ve used them to try and make myself look better but then it wouldn’t be me. I think try and take the pictures in different positions see which ones come out best

We tend to take lots of pics, decide on the best one and then just mess with the lighting a bit….occasionally blur out my tattoo if it’s showing too much in case it get recognised xx

I take a selection of photographs but only keep one or two of the better ones before I edit them: crop, highlights, blur, vignette, white balance or adjusting the exposure. I have no issues with filters — I'm just being artistic for my own personal pleasure, as opposed to misleading anyone.

I don't generally use filters and would choose what captures me, a certain look and uniqueness. I'm deterred by filters

Agree with this completely. You can’t be sure on who you’re ACTUALLY gonna see when they turn up ffs

I met a woman for a date years ago now, when filters were new.

She kind of looked like her pictures, but clearly looked “different” as well.

I just had a quick coffee and said my goodbyes.

I just think it’s a bad idea. Personality wins most of the time, but you need initial attraction etc.

No amount of filters are going to hide my faults and ‘laughter lines’ or ‘crevices’ as one young lady termed them to me recently…we’re still friends though..lol

If you work in Social Media, or something similar… they can be helpful, especially if creating high quality content on a budget… like a brand deal, where they want something a bit more professional

But, for personal use, unless it’s just a colour filter, or lighting effect etc… I just don’t see the point.

Upload a picture of you, as you are, you’re more than good enough the way you look now

If we suspect lots of filters on photos or deceiving photos we tend to try ask for a video call as well first and call it “breaking the ice”

I take 3 or 4 pics and choose the one I think is best and I will sometimes play around with it, ie..crop it and change the light tone.

The only filtering we do is brushing out the visible tattoos. Other than that we leave all then blemishes, lumps and bumps alone.

My private pics are all selfies, no filters, my public pictures have no filters either, but you can’t see much, but just enough.

I do need to show more wrinkles, I hide those well on pictures

Take a few photos, see which is best. Then crop them, to remove anything in the background that I didn't want in the pictures.

I’ve had body dysmorphia since I was very young. Trying to take a pic that I’m even slightly okay with is a huge challenge. Actually posting a pic and letting others see is a greater challenge atill.

Filters are just lies, and I believe in honesty no matter how hard the truth is to accept.

For my public gallery I’ll post my best pictures. Vignette, change the brightness if needed, change the colour tone if needed. I’m trying to find ways of showing myself without someone being able to recognise me as I value my privacy.

I’ve recently got some gel photography lights so I’ve been playing around with those. The brightly coloured pictures I have is from me experimenting with them.

Face pics and ones I send in private I don’t do anything to.

Ankh-Morpork

Take 100 pics

Choose 1

Edit lighting

Delete the butt plug or similar in the background

Stick monochrome or other colour filter over

I don’t edit the pics for features, that just leads to disappointment when you meet someone. I might edit out an identifiable tattoo or a zit but that’s it

I don’t get why people do it. I only know how to change the colouring on my phone anyway but if you’re meeting people it’s so deceitful. I met a lady once and she was literally nothing like her face pic because of filters. What a waste of time. I can tell now though if people have. It’s pretty obvious.

I’ll retake a pic until I’m happy with it, angles, lighting etc can change a pic a lot. I never use filters though, I don’t see the point, I’d rather someone be aware of my flaws ahead of time rather than meeting me and being disappointed

The only filters I use are to switch to b/w. Small angles and composition usually make a huge difference with a shot and you need several to get it right.

This. 💯

There are filters and then there are 'filters'.

Colour adjustment, B&W, artistic adjustment, hiding ink etc are completely different to Snapchat style facial feature adjustments that make you look like somebody else completely.

Overuse of those filters is in itself a very useful filter. 🤷‍♂️
