Here's something i've been pondering on for a while and i'd like to know your thoughts:

Girls are taught from a young age that the chest area is something to be kept hidden and private, a thing that only lovers should see and touch.

Boys, on the other hand, are never faced with this stigma. So, on reaching an age where they are wanting and able to have breast implants how do they view their new assets? Does it make them more willing and comfortable to have them on display? Or does a change in physical appearance also affect the mindset and cause them to view them in the same way as cis women would?

I realise that this might not be the best place to ask, where having breasts on show is common, even de rigeur, but do your best anyway.

I have always been a busty girl, covering them up sometimes creates more looks than leaving a little cleavage showing.

I think it's personal preference.

Unfortunately girls are only told to cover up when younger to be less appealing to dirty old men

Thank you for the above responses, i don't mean to be funny but none of them actually answer the question. I once knew a woman that had breast implants who was so enamoured of her new assets after years of being quite small that she would take every possible opportunity to show them off, usually after a few drinks in the pub (not that this is relevant either).

So, do you think that trans who have had implants view their breasts differently to cis women having faced none of the childhood stigma?

Some input from the trans community would be welcome.

As you indicated with the female friend who had them enhanced, sudden confidence in something makes people keener to show it off.

I don't tend to have my tits out, not out of shame or modesty, I'm just not that keen on them and would rather highlight the parts I think look the best. If I liked my tits as much as I like my legs I'd be dressing to show them off just as much.

I had a friend who was very modestly until she had an enhancement a few years ago. She went from the quiet modest cleavage outfits to the big showy 'look at my tits' ones real fast. And it was lovely to see how happy she was with them 💜

I knew another woman a while ago who was naturally well endowed and she loved to flash her breasts too (also usually after a few drinks down the pub). She also won the wet t-shirt contest at the Bulldog Bash several years running, but that's another tale.

So yes, of course, it's very much down to the confidence of the individual and breast implants certainly help to boost that, if one feels good about oneself that comes to the fore in a myriad ways.

However, this is still regarding breast implants in women which isn't the direction i was hoping this thread would take, sorry.

Well they are new or enhanced on the base hormones development so yes they are validating and one wants to wear different clothes to show more cleavage and feel sexy.

But of course we face the same challenges as cis women, although new. Personally I don’t whip them out at the pub but may wear a more Shapely top.

To do otherwise is to invite unwanted and potentially dangerous behaviour.

One adapts quickly to society reality to just fit in. It’s certainly validating, and great for adult clubs, but otherwise deployed as and when appropriate. Sometimes I may want to stand out and be noticed. Most times they are hidden away so I don’t stand out and can get on with day to day life

Touching upon this comment slightly I think if a male was to gain implants (and this is only my personal opinion, it not right or wrong) you have to think about how a cis woman is taught to present themselves and how to express femininity and my perception on doing so is to highlight your new assets tastefully such as showing off “slight” cleavage and leave people wanting more! This probably doesn’t answer your question very well but that’s how I would perceive the issue highlighted…

I think that is very true. Some people are fine being out there front of centre. Others more discrete and a spectrum in between depending on the person and occasion.

Although transwomen may not have had the direct experience of breasts from puberty, depending on when transition was, the society generally acceptable behaviours on dress are pretty well known by all. It’s not that hard to blend and fit in.

And most transwomen never fitted the male profile so didn’t quite have that socialisation either! Likewise with trans men.

So you know what? Yeah we learn the elements we may not know by trial and error and living it 24/7.

When I go shopping day to day I’ll look to blend and not attract attention and generally people don’t even notice me. Like all women, if I want to be noticed, then that’s something else and multiple options other than deploying ones breasts to do so…
