Do you still own one reminder from your childhood that’s full of memories.

The one special thing

Maybe a book or a toy or a teddy bear or a photo

What have you got

I am very lucky. I have my dad’s watch. I always remember him wearing it every day. He used to let me “wind” it up under supervision.

I still have it and wear it

I have only 1 picture of me with my mum and dad on my 1st birthday, taken with a Polaroid camera, it was the only photo taken and then it was broken (by me after the pic was taken I tried to grab it and it dropped on the floor)

They saved for it and never replaced it.

I once dropped my parents thermos flask back when they would shatter in to so many pieces. That was never replaced either

I have my nans glass trinket dish that was on her dressing table. I remember when I was little she would keep the tiny little tester lipsticks that you would get (from Avon I think?) in it and I would test them out.

When I was about 6 I couldn't open our back door so I tried pushing it with my bum which shattered the glass. It was replaced by hardboard nailed to the doorframe.

So sorry to hear this. Childhood years should be filled with happy memories but sadly not the case for many.

Apart from some distant memories the only thing I can think of is my faither’s garden spade. I think he got it when I was about 14 or 15. I still use it in the garden.

A toy di-cast airport bus. Whenever my dad was travelling he'd pick me up something like this at the airport. My mum found it a couple of years ago and brought it round. We lost him when I was 15 and its just something nice to have.

A very battered story book that my parents used to read from to me, my first teddy bear, now very threadbare.

And little glass dish that I was allowed to choose my 'specials' to put in, these were a few sweets I was allowed now and again.

The bike the watch.

You weren't in Pulp Fiction were you?

I have a Panda from when I was a baby.

And a shoe box of memorabilia, letters from girlfriends. A Zippo lighter from a friend, a wedding ring, that kind of thing.

I also have a few things from my grandparents house after they died, like a clock and some other bits. I spent a lot of my childhood living with them, and I lived with them for a couple of years before they died when they needed care. So they have a lot of meaning to me.

Yeah it's not you, I think you'd have remembered how you acquired the chopper.

I have an edition of a local newspaper of which I'm on the front page.

I won a baby competition with about 500 other kids.

I'm next to a giant plush toy womble; one of the prizes.

It's about 10 times my size.

I have a set of 6 plastic christmas ornaments from the 70s.

I know they're hideous. I can see they're hideous. I absolutely love them, and I take great care when I'm decorating my Christmas tree that they be very visible on it.

A teddy bear, and a blue fluffy ape.

The only photo I have of me and my parents together. I'm a sleeping newborn in it. 🤭

A book, signed by my Granny from her and my Grandad.

The little bear I bought my Granny when I was about 5. She kept it hooked on her wall for the rest of her days. Even every time she moved. I was given it when she died, and it meant the world to me.

Think I've also got a cuddly elephant somewhere which I was given by a nurse in hospital when I was 4-5, sorry think I may be a hoarder💙💙👍
