It is hard to accept at time when feels like everyone you send a pic to suddenly disappears. Don’t be hard on yourself. They may have insecurities off their own and feel a face pic is all a bit to much. It takes confidence to put one’s self out there and actually meet. Most lack that for what ever reason.

Facial attraction is huge for me. But photos don't really tell you much either. Before I met my partner on here I swapped photos with him as part of a "Who do you look like?" thread. He thought I looked a bit like Hannah Waddingham and I thought he looked a bit like John Hannah. Neither of us had a oooft moment I don't think. We then met in person at a group social and I didn't realise who he was at first. I just knew I really fancied him.

I'm not quite sure what my point is other than don't read too much into it. And if you can get yourself to a organised social you're much more likely to click with someone in person.

Day to day we aren't relying on our looks to get by in life. I won't be turned away from Waitrose because of my face, I'm allowed on the bus despite it, nobody tells me to go away in the street (well, not often). However on here we set ourselves up to be rejected or accepted with every interaction, therefore the it all becomes concentrated down.

The fact is we're all going to be rejected because of how we look but men are going to experience it more frequently because there are more of them. It's got very little to do with our faces really.

Men generally aren't too great at selfies. I've met quite a few and I've been surprised when I've met them. In a kind of 'oh your face is sittable but in your photo it looks rather sour' way.

Obviously, as Mrs NC wrote above, there's an increased likelihood of not hearing back because of the number of men but it's also worth making sure face photos are... good. Ask a blunt friend, that's what I do.

It’s then the connection when you get to know them that lights that spark.

In a roundabout way, I’m trying to say the looks is paper thin, it’s when you start to peel back each layer of a person you start to realy fancy someone, other than that you just probably think they look hot.
