So who's going to find yours?

I live alone with no family, the only person to knock at my door this year was from the office of national statistic, I fear I'm going to rot until the bank runs dry and the bailiffs come knocking

My final act will be to drag my dying body to a local cafe. Given how many clog up tables without buying anything I’m sure it’ll be a while before my body is discovered.

A Dirty Hole

I thought about this a lot, and it did worry me.

It’s sad a lot of people might pass like this and not be found for days/weeks.

I sat and thought and figured I’d be found within a week, and it would have been my kids, which made me scared.

Does this also apply if I’m just dead on the inside?

Not sure who will find me but hopefully I will be found sooner than later and my body isn't smelly and covered in flies.

I'll probably end up getting run over crossing the road with my loud shouty music in my headphones, so whoever is driving. Sorry.

Having just realised I've now been living on my own for the longest time ever in my life (two years), this question has occurred to me. I don't know who would miss me first but when it happens, my reputation will take a blow when they see the erotic collage on my bedroom wall!

Possibly a neighbour.

Mine are all quite friendly.

If they don't see me for a few weeks they come round and ring the doorbell to check I'm alright.

"Most likely the TV licence why haven't I paid "

Do have loads of people in the street who if don't see me around would come knocking but as above these would force entry

Like you OP i don't have direct family, no kids etc...but where I may differ is that my extended family is huge..uncles, aunties, siblings, neices, cousins...all over the world too (sometimes I have to hide from them..)

I also have lots of friends that would probably come over if I didn't answer my whatsapp messages quickly enough...

This reminds me of a bit of a running theme during the 90s of actors falling on hard times who became ill and died in their homes.

In these instances, the bodies remained undiscovered for a couple of weeks, and they had to be scraped off of their carpets.

Two whom spring to mind are/were Return of the Jedi/Fawlty Towers actress Claire Davenport and 70s sex bomb Minah Bird, who graced films like The Stud and The Four Dimensions of Greta.

OP...I just thought..not to derail the thread ..do you think that this maybe a cultural thing?..

In the way that it's not rare that old people here can live a quite isolated existence in their later years.

My folks came from other countries.

(-I have an extended irish and indian side)

One of my folks' old friends is nearly 90, I try and speak to him every few weeks. He doesnt have children and lives on his own. .. (hes in wigan actually )

I can’t even go for a piss without my dog letting me know he feels alone and abandoned … I’d still be warm when found
