ive just suddenly realised that 20 years ago today at half one i said the dreaded two words - i do,

They lasted only a few moments as i ran back into the registry office crying like a banshee saying i had made a huge mistake and to rip up the papers lol

needless to say one pissed off groom and delighted father ( He hated him) must have been the shortest marriage in history lol

whew!!!!

funny thing about it was that i didnt know i was getting married till the day before as it had all been organised behind my back ( i was pregnant) and he thought it a great surprise ( neaarly fucking killed me in shock) and as soon as he told me that all my family had travelled to london from scotland i felt totally presurised to go through with it.

Anyway the funny thing is that i had a son to him and because i had jilted him at the alter he never paid in 18 years then i recieved a phone call the day after my son had turned 18 saying they had traced him lol - what a fantastic organisation

so now i get £152 a month as back pay so my son will now be 33 when the arrrears are cleared lol - Wot a joke!!

It's a very unstable mind that backs out of a wedding 2 seconds after committing to it. I think your jilted had a very lucky escape.

Did it not occur to you to say "I don't want to get married," when the subject was first raised or at any time between then and your wedding day?

She did just say it was organised behind her back as a surprise.

I agree totally, some people are too judgemental - like you say he should have read the thread completely. Ignore him you did the right thing and i cant see another woman not agreeing with what you did. Well done!

Note to all the men I know. Please don't arrange a wedding for me 'as a surprise' for me - a box of maltesers is a much nicer present.
