The jar of coffee beans was to encourage them to find a way to guess how many was in the jar without counting them - basically working out volumes and division!

I do chocolate lessons which are where the kids have to sort multicoloured sweets/chocolate and then produce a statistical analysis - that's the one where I have to watch for "anomalies"
