Anybody got any good/fun hobbies that don’t cost an arm and leg and don’t need full time commitment.

I’ve tried a couple of things but find lots of stuff boring know that is a negative attitude. Tend to get to that point of something that I think I know how to do this now so what’s the point in doing it again.

I envy people who have an interest that seems to fulfil them.

And I don’t count being on fabswingers a hobby even though I spend a good bit of time on it.

I love walking, hill climbing and swimming. All are a good way to exercise without spending much money.

There's lots I could say but they would require time commitment / money...

So I'd say hiking. (choose scenic place.) Walking shoes and a raincoat & free day from day to time is all ya need.

Some hobbies require a small outlay, but aren't too expensive going on. I used to enjoy fishing, and a cheap setup off a popular auction site shouldn't set you back more than £50 or so. It does require a £35 yearly licence (unless you're looking at the ocean rn) and does ofc require a body of water of some kind (not your neighbour's pond).

I love kayaking and although there's the initial cost of buying the equipment, there's lots of second hand ones available and it opens up lots of options. Be it on the sea or lakes and rivers, its also exercise without it feeling like it. Bonus!🤣🤣

In the west.

I really like working in the garden. It’s a bit of a puzzle at times working out what to do and where to put things. It keeps my mind and body active.

I love gardening. Taking a break just now, putting up some trellis for a clematis.

That’s another joy of it, you don’t have to do everything at once.

If u go the musical instrument route like others have suggested, get a music recording app for your tablet, or even phone. That will add another dimension to your musical exploration.

(They're not expensive at all these days.)

Impossible without knowing a bit more about your life really.

What do you enjoy doing or have an interest in ?

Probably easier to expand on that and make it more of a hobby/passtime

Learning to draw or paint.

Container gardening.

Writing, paper and pen of notes on your phone

Reading, libraries are free so are some kindle books.

Learn a language on duolingo, it's free if you can bear adverts

Journaling, just need paper and pen or notes on your phone

Learn a subject you're really interested in eg history, geology, species of wasp of the british isles etc see libraries, YouTube and internet

These are some of the things I do (except learn about wasps). I also sew, embroider and crochet but that can cost a fair bit

Like a few have said, I'm gonna say gardening. You can do wonders with even a small space. And youtube will answer any questions you have.

And talk about cheap ! If you have any potatoes that have started sprouting, break off all of the sprouts except one. Plat the potato about 6 inches down, and 12 weeks later, you will be amazed how many big potatoes you will have.

Obviously plant a few, the more the better. Try give them at least 8 to 10 inches from nearest potato.

And the taste.......unreal.

Would take you less than a half hour to plant say 12 potaoes, and you will get a month or twos supply.

Or get some flowers ( Lidl get fresh ones in every thursday, great value). Put some colour in your garden.

If I was looking for a new hobby I think I’d get a metal detector & go about searching for things maybe the beach you could find jewellery or go where there’s spare grounds & see if you find something from the Roman times 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just a thought

Parkrun is a free to enter 5 kilometre walk/run/jog every Saturday morning at 9am, it looks like there's one near you. It's a great way to meet and get chatting to people.

Thanks for all the suggestions some that might give a go. Have tried some of them maybe should re visit them

I suppose in the past would of played team sports where you kind of just turn up and you do what’s expected. Kind of over hill for that and not interested interested in being involved now that am not playing.
