How many hours do you spend in the gym?

A few months late to my New Year’s resolution

Manchester(ish).

I have a training programme, 4 sessions a week, 2 hours per session, depending on weight and volume.

If it's a lighter week I'll stick some conditioning in too.

It doesn't matter how you train OP, as long as you enjoy it and progress.

"Fuck the gym off and do something like boxing or jiu jitsu "

In a boxing gym? Still a gym.

But yes, I used to box and it was the best fitness regime I ever did. Depends what the OP is looking to acheive though?

OP what are you wanting to achieve? One reply on here the guy says gym are soul destroying, I beg to differ, gyms are great for your mental health as long as you have a healthy balance of using a gym.

Go to a gym and try it for a month, first few weeks you may need to push yourself and motivate yourself to go but you may start to enjoy it and could well put a slring in your step.

4-5 hours per week. Ideally 5 1 hour sessions.

The benefits of weight training definitely outweigh the effort.

Not been in a gym since the 80's. I prefer to walk in fresh air for exercise.

Normally I go to the gym about 4 or 5 times a week for 1 - 2 hours a session. In addition to this I run and walk lots.

I'm currently training for a marathon and my running schedule has significantly increased in distance lately and so my gym sessions have dropped to twice a week. I am tapering currently and the event is next weekend, so the balance between gym and running will even out again...until my next events training plan kicks in.

Interestingly while I never go to the gym, my body is put through quite the workout in the warehouse that I sometimes feel like I'm doing strongman exercises (they mostly feel like squats, lifting & farmers walk) 😳

In the west.

I don’t have a rigid regime, some weeks I go 4 or 5 times others only once or twice. I tend to do about an hour when I go, but my login and out times make it look better because of getting changed and showered so that is what I go with.

I don’t go to the gym.

I have about 15 kettlebells of varying weights and two medicine balls and various barbells of different weights to keep me entertained at home!

I find gyms (unless they have a pool) boring.

Must admit - a very late appreciator of walking outside just for walk sake.

Best of luck with the marathon. Presently having to get into running once more for an upcoming one in June
