"I am in my late 30s and I still suffer from spots on my upper back. Though I have to admit I have been very lucky and have never suffered from acne on my face So does anyone else ever 25 have spot issues ?" Yes. I'm 37 and still suffer with persistent acne. Currently I take 100mg of Minocycline daily as its the only medication I've found to be effective. I also tried accutane, which is heralded as about the best treatment currently available (can only be prescribed by a dermatologist though so ask your GP for a referral), sadly I'm in the 1% of the population that had unwanted, dangerous side effects. It's also important to get a correct diagnosis. Most people are diagnosed with acne vulgaris, mainly due to GP's not taking the condition seriously. Mine was correctly diagnosed when I was 34, as cystic acne, so treatment became more effective. As for over the counter products. I've found that an aspirin face pack once a week really helps and for a daily cleanser I use L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic with charcoal, it totally removes the sebum (skin oil) which clogs pores and causes spots.

"I've been to the GP about mine and have cream and long term antibiotics. It's not acne I have but he doesn't know what it actually is. They really hurt, especially the ones on my face. I have also changed my skincare routine and now using collagen based cleanser, toner and moisturiser and it has definitely made a world of difference for me" Are the spots below the skin and pretty much headless?....sorry to ask such a personal question.

They're the best people to see when it comes to acne, regular doctors aren't really interested...

"Mine are mostly on my left arm and top of back now. The cream does help dry them up but i'm a forgetful sod! lol" Drying them up is one thing but reducing sebum production and bacteria is the key to fighting spots effectively. I also get them on my arms and in my ears if I run out of my medication.
