They weren't a real band. They were cast in a tv show. They are the definition of a manufactured band.

They're also really good.

I was once asked by a judge if I had a criminal record. I replied that I owned The Wombles Greatest Hits.

It was played to the court and Uncle Bulgaria was sentenced to 6 months hard labour…..
