Historic or notable events that occurred on fab that people remember as a community

Jump to newest

Hello all, I've not long joined fab and have come to realise (I think) that this site and a fair share of the community have been present and swinging for multiple decades, and it had me thinking..

Has there ever been notable or memorable events that have occurred within the time up to present that will be forever remembered or like an inside joke that only swinging veterans are in on, perhaps infamous glitches or other hilarious blunders?

Curious about fab lore.

Ha

There are two that come to mind in my time using the forums.

The widower who was a very big forum contributor right up to the point where it was discovered that his missus was very much alive.

More locally in the Irish forum there was the "stockbroker" who anyone using the Irish forums at the time will remember.

A huge walking red flag if ever there was one and yet so many people believed in him and I only hope they didn't part with their savings.

Ibremember the widower was supposed to be on his own with four kids. Kept it going for a good while until he was caught out

I remember the widower, he said his wife had died of cancer and he had a disabled son, was always asking advice, total shock to everyone when it came out, and left a lot of people feeling let down.

Sadly in these days over over sensitivity I doubt we will see the likes of her again.

Yup I wasted a whole weekend once going through the verifications blocking everyone she'd met, believe it or not a few had messaged us and a couple of them where lined up for a meet!!

Then she went and shut the account opening another a few weeks later.

She's not on here now I don't think so I assume I'm breaking no rules discussing this??

There was an interactive forum game once along the lines of the traitors which turned into world war 3.

Some were publicly and nastily reprimanded for collaborating and actually left the site due to the bitching and backstabbing while others went mental when they were voted out and started very public rows with other contestants.

From the outside it was hilarious because even the most innocent question from those not involved was treated as an attack on their little community.

Even funnier was some of those involved in organising it thought it a good idea to resurrect it a few times since

I've never taken part in a forum game because I don't spend long enough on here each day to keep up with it but I was invited by one of the organisers to take part.

I read down through the initial thread to see who was involved and politely declined the invitation because it was so bloody obvious from the outset that egos were going to get badly dented and it was much more entertaining sitting on the sidelines.

"Towball is memorable, certainly."

Oh, that bloody thread haunts me to this day....

I was the one who posted the initial response - COMPLETELY missing the OP's original intention. This was on my old single account, hence the name being different.

But what are the chances of randomly looking at the forum tonight and seeing this??

All over

The thread about for guessing the price of fish and chips and some other bits and pieces from the chippy was very funny I remember. That was only a couple of years or so ago though.

Having been on Fab since the early days i remember some the people and events already mentioned. The one that i remember most is annie wilkes for the long winded threads that often got unpleasant for some people.

"Wasn't there some controversy a while ago about a woman using this site as a social experiment or something. And so many couples and men felt pissed off and were in uproar over it?

Was she a literal Sydney University researcher?

Haha she might have been. I just remember the forums were in uproar over it "

Some of these memories are amazing, I’ve not been part of here long but I remember this..the user is now back with a new profile though haha

It was a terrible photoshop and all of his veries were old and never mentioned his cock, so the logic was that he'd added the shit morph after the meets.

He got very defensive.

He wasn't happy when everyone pointed out the obvious fuzziness of the photos and got quite rude, so I think he might have been bounced

Another from the Irish vault was the former club owner who insisted on a full frontal nude pic including face as part of the application for a ticket to any of their events.

When challenged, he went on a fat shaming rant, directly insulted many of those interested in attending and said they had standards to maintain.

The club closed shortly afterwards.

I'm assuming the two things were linked.

Well where else are we supposed to go !☹️🤣

Dundrum

I engaged with an account called “WhoWantsEd”

New to Fabs and probably less aware… a guy profile but his wife came on and started chatting to me on it… they were MF swingers in Dundrum Dublin…. Chatted about everything and anything including local shops, her kids, jobs, commutes… eventually she sent on a few pics via Skype and they just looked slightly odd…. Checked them out on TinEye and they were sourced from a Russian porn site…

Freaky as fuck… played along for a while just to frustrate and annoy whoever was on it….. I rumbled them shortly after reported the account however was frustrated to see the profile reappear in Cams watching etc… haven’t seen it but offended wondered what the motive was…..

After the guts of a week of frequent chats money or anything like that was never hinted….. I suspect it was probably a solo person cat fishing because they couldn’t get standard engagement the normal way….

Freaky though… very authentic chats throughout..

I fondly recall helping get a short, middle aged Scottish guy in a tutu to number one in the hotpics, purely through the power of the forums.

That and organising an epic forum social at a club where we had around 300 attend. Was nice to finally put faces to names of people I'd been bouncing off in here for years.

And the Funky/Invictus/Soxy love triangle that lasted years.....

There's also been tim. es when the forums have all rallied together. Like the time kitty lost her baby and we raised over £3000 for the mother and baby ward through various sponsored activities.

The forums have always come together in someone's hour of need. Despite what else goes on
