Sorry to hear about your mother… days like this are triggering and mixed emotions…

I lost my mother in 2021 and understand….although grief is a very personal journey too….

It’s only when you lose someone close that you realise the value of time and how precious it actually is…. I remember thinking of someone offered me a ticket priced £50k to fly 12 hours to a remote island to see my Mam for 10 minutes I wouldn’t think twice… I’d find the money…. People and family are more important….

The best thing you can do in her honour is live your best life and make her proud….

Take care…

Sounds like you had a close relationship and were a great son to her…. That in itself is precious…

Hope you’re around family tomorrow and you raise a toast and reminisce on the best parts and fun times with her…

It’s not daft…. You do what you need to do and if you feel closer to her by doing that then do it… as I said grief is personal and complex.

DMs always open today if you need to share….

(I hope our mothers aren’t looking down at us typing on a Swingers chat forum 🤣😉)

Same here OP, it's tough at times when in solitude and not much going on, I just been very busy but sometimes the grief needs to just be observed. Will be going to her fave restaurant today in memory

Know the feeling well my mum passed 2023 so it's the 3rd mother's day without her I still remember that phone call from my dad to get as quick as I could.

To everyone missing a loved one you never get over it really you just learn to live with the memories but if anything my mum and dad passing so quick and sudden also saved my life in a way

Lovely thought there op. Nothing really to add. Think lovely things of your mum. I sympathise. Lost mine 4 years ago and still miss her. For those lucky enough to still have your mums. Think nice things of them today while you still can.

Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Havant

My mum passed two years ago

I miss chatting to her although we were miles apart Cumbria v’s Hampshire

I used to call driving home from work most days the odd face time … I should have recorded more family history … ( regrets)

This evening I will raise a glass wishing her well on her journeys ..

where ever she is now
