That absolutely blows my mind. I'm sorry, but that to me seems intentional as if to (rightfully so) keep us pesky humans away from "invading" their planet. Could be a coincidence but damn that hit me on my painkiller high tonight.

Hope you're not too attached to that planet because you'll never guess what I saw on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard'
