I don't ParkRun, I ParkPush. But I've not done it for ages because it's just too early and most are not easily doable or at all doable in the wheelchair so I have to travel 40min away. After a week at work, I need NOT to be out of the house before 08:15!

My motivation varies. Sometimes it's simply that the dog needs his exercise, sometimes it's because I love being out in the woods/mountains, sometimes it's because when I wrote the plan I am on I spent a lot of time getting the right mix of mileage and rest and I know I'll be pissed off with myself if I miss one today simply because I can't be bothered. Sometimes it's because I know the only way to achieve the things I want to is to train for them. Sometimes it's because my wife is a feeder and I have zero ability to say no to food (or her) so I need to keep my average daily calorie burn over 3000kcal in order not to get fat.

Most days it's a mix of all the above.

In the west.

I’ve thought about it. I’m just not a fan of CV though. But I know it would be good for me.

One of the many reasons I run alone.

If you were downwind of my sweaty pits then any thought of motivation would soon ebb away.

Leaving aside the whole issue of perving over strangers (it's something we all do to one extent or another and all get upset at the thought of the "wrong" people doing it to us) but I just wanted to call out the wonderful malaphor.

Like a carrot on a stick

I am running today. I am tapering my runs as I approach a marathon next week. So my long run for this week is only 6 miles, and I'm going to enjoy ticking that off my training plan.

Thank you, yes I had a lovely run with our dog.

No, I'm not running for charity. This is my first event since recovering from knee reconstruction surgery almost 2 years ago. It's a personal challenge and a major milestone, which I didn't want to add more pressure to myself by having people donate their money for.

This is mind blowing and great determination! You’re putting yourself to go through a marathon after the surgery, that’s the definition of conquering one’s weakness to live full potential.

You should be an inspiration for many people that knows your story

The thought of Parkrun is horrifying to me. I prefer to run alone, headphones on, my target is not time or distance but to finish alive
