Saw a post earlier about cartoons everyone grew up with and got me thinking about games I grew up with. (Nerdy kid alert!!)

Currently building a raspberry pi retro games machine and wondered what the good people of fab would pick??

Going for the obvious snes / mega drive classics but any got any hidden gems to recommend??

Thursday evening with way too much time on my hands!!

4 player Micromachines on Sega megadrive was a dangerous game to play.

And golden eye on the N64 playing 4 player splitscreen free for all on golden gun mode with big heads was more competitive than Esports.

Also should have said the early FIFA games.

The ones where you could foul the goalie and score a goal and also run away when the ref tried to book you and he’d run after you.

You could also turn off bookings and foul the crap out of other players and injured them with no punishment. It was great fun 😆

"Cannon Fodder. Sega Rally Championship. Combat Lynx. Commando. Excite Bike. Elite.

I'm fairly sure I have a copy of Sega Rally Championship for the Saturn somewhere around here still.

Yes!

I had this on the Saturn too, absolutely loved in and played for hours on it.

Thought it was so realistic at the time but have seen YouTube videos of it recently and it looks pants now 😆"

Yeah, very different. I still plug it in now and again. Play some of the old ones.

"California sports ( I think it was called ) "

Probably California Games, where you had a selection of events, Surfing, BMX, Half Pipe, "foot bag" (essentially just keepie-uppies), Frisbee, and i think a roller skating one

"Also should have said the early FIFA games.

The ones where you could foul the goalie and score a goal and also run away when the ref tried to book you and he’d run after you.

You could also turn off bookings and foul the crap out of other players and injured them with no punishment. It was great fun 😆"

Oh man I totally forgot you could run away from the ref, haha.
