Ladies of Fab...do you find Sobriety sexy?

London

It's a major reason me & my ex broke up. I couldn't be around someone who was boozing on the regular. I'm proud to be Straight Edge & love representing it with my t-shirts & (eventual) tattoos.

Do women find this sexy or am I coming off as a square?

The bottom of the River Ankh

It doesn't make you square if you don't enjoy something, and if anyone tries to tell you otherwise then they need to jog on. I get that it can be difficult if one person in the relationship drinks and the other doesn't, especially if the drinker has more of a problem than they can or will admit to. Don't let anyone tell you how to live your life xx

'Sobriety' is not sexy to me. It's neither here nor there. But an unhealthy relationship with alcohol is un-sexy.

I ended a 25 year friendship with my bestie because alcohol has taken over her life and changed her severely. I still mourn the loss of friendship but over the years the friendship was slowly drowning.

I hardly ever drink so would definitely not mind someone who chooses to be sober.

Between Edinburgh and Scottish Borders

Not sxe but totally understand it (still love hard core). We drink occasionally but very rarely in sexy situations. It just could create too much drama and problems.

I would think most people would prefer to meet sober we’d have 1 or 2 drinks for a bit of socialising first buts that would be all alcohol and sex is a shit combination (mr)

Carlisle usually

I don't particularly indulge myself.

When I did, I preferred to be around other people who enjoyed the same things. For the obvious reasons.

As it is, I don't mind if someone does or not, sobriety is an absolute non issue to me, but I prefer to avoid extremists either side.

I have a partner who is sober but just doesn't bother anyone with that fact, just drinks his soft drinks and let's people crack on with what they want to do. I can't be doing with people preaching about it. And have partners who do like a drink, but rarely to excess, and without acting like I have to be equally intoxicated or be called boring 💜

I like a few drinks when we're out, hound usually chooses not to... sobriety wouldn't make a difference to us, but we would absoloutly not meet/ get involved with anyone who was very d*unk, to us that's a turn off... you be you and do what works best, anyone who doesn't like it isn't worth your time xx

I dont want to be around people that are big boozers.

Not drinking at all isnt sexy to me.

I appreciate a guy who isnt a big drinker & puts emphasis on his physical health & wellbeing.

🤷‍♀️ I’ve never d*unk alcohol and it’s never been an issue. Can’t say not drinking is sexy/unsexy as I think that’s a weird concept? I wouldn’t be compatible with someone who needed to drink a lot to enjoy themselves or need me to partake, but it’s never caused a problem.

I don't care if someone is sober or not really. As long as they don't preach at me for enjoying a social drink now and again, if they don't drink at all that's fine. I was seeing someone recently for about 18 months who was sober and had been for years we just did other things together.

If they were preachy tho that would put me right off, or just doing it as a "virtue signal" thing "aren't I just great, my body is a temple, I'm so much better than people who drink" that would be as much of a turn off as someone who drank to excess.

Sounds like an incompatibility issue and if being "straight edge" is so important to you it's your prerogative not to want to date someone who drinks, as much as it is hers not to be preached at about it. Sounds like you just weren't right for eachother long term if it was an important issue for you.

I'm a social drinker but rarely indulge at home.

Sobriety isn't explicitly sexy but if it's the right choice for whoever I'm with, I'll support that however I can.

I’d rather be in the company of someone who matched me. We both enjoy a drink now and then but we do it together. Other times it could be weeks before we pour an alcoholic drink.

I’ve had a previous partner years ago who when I got home from work could be a bottle of wine in and so it would be hit and miss about what type of reception I got. Not for me.

I've never tasted alcohol but as others have said I don't have an issue with those who like a drink now and again.

I've has snide comments made to me over the years by people claiming I wasn't really Irish if I didn't drink and every one of my friends were drinkers growing up but I've never been interested.

I don't find it a sexy trait but I would definitely be avoiding anyone who needed alcohol as a crutch before meeting me.

I wouldn't say I find it sexy, but I definitely prefer to engage with people who are sober.

Alcoholism severely impacted my childhood and marriage, so I'm not a huge fan of d*unk people

YES!!!! I'm the EXACT same bro! Being Scottish, people assume I love a wee dram but I love being sober more 👌

I had no idea what Straight Edge was until I looked it up now.

I don't advertise the fact I don't drink as all my friends are well aware so there is never an issue.

I can't say I love being sober because I've never been anything else. It's just a state of mind as far as I'm concerned.

I don’t think it’s not sexy but get if people don’t drink if they go places then they can drive their selves home & also I don’t keep any drink in my house anyway so if someone was to come to mine they would have to bring there own & I wouldn’t really care if they didn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've only started drinking socially in the past year having never touched the stuff previously and even then, I didn't mind people drinking as I was happy being in their company. I'm not a massive of anyone who drinks so much that they need babying and find that a total turn off and wouldn't want to be with anyone who drinks every day like having a glass of wine to unwind as I just think that's an unhealthy way of coping with everyday stress.

I lose interest pretty quickly in anyone who is evangelical about anything be it drinking, swinging or sobriety.

I don't find sobriety or being a d*unk sexy. You do you.

Though I do like to have a rum with a guy before any shenanigans. Least he tastes nice for the kissing.

This. If you're happy and you know it you do you.

I like a drink and know my limits. I know when it's healthy and unhealthy for me to do so. Although a tipple before sex isn't a necessity I find it helps get rid of the pre-match jitters. And if she drinks enough maybe she won't notice the 3 inch, 3 second wonder 🤷🏽‍♂️

Booze has helped me get with a woman one way or the other. Either she’s d*unk and thinks I’m gorgeous, or I’m d*unk and find her hilarious.

I congratulate anyone who is a tee total. I’m just replying to have fun with the subject of the post.

I very rarely drink. It’s just not my thing. I also don’t like to be around d*unk people. I’ve had a lot of sober nights out and still had a good time.
