Hey all, I know it's not healthy in the long term, but I must say, porn has helped me to recover from a nasty public break-up. Has anyone else dealt with this? I can't picture myself going back into a relationship at all now, I'm having way too much fun.

So porn is more fun than ever having a relationship again?

No I haven't done it.

If you don't want a relationship that's your choice. I think overuse of porn is a bad thing and too much casual sex can leave you feeling a bit jaded and empty. As with everything there's a limit.

I'm not going to pretend I've never had a happy slut phase post a rough breakup, or that it didn't help me feel better at the time.

But it's definitely not particularly healthy as a coping mechanism. And I'd advise making sure you keep reality and what you actually want from life in mind 💜

When is the happy slut phase supposed to end? Asking for a friend

I do think porn and Fab-style sex generally can help in the short term. I've certainly found that in the last eighteen months since my wife passed away but it doesn't replace the intimacy of a relationship and that's what I really miss every day.

I mean. Some of us are just happy sluts to the outside world forever. But it's the difference between pure hedonism and actually forming real bonds and you know that 💜

It can help in the short term but you need more to get the most out of life longer term. Speaking from experience.

I came back on after a break up and it didn't help at all, just reminded me of how alone I truly am.

Now I've got through that phase a little bit and starting to embrace fab again, looking for friends I can keep a lifetime, maybe a fwb who knows....
