What’s annoying to you?

What annoys you most on here?

This happened today, and it really annoys me. It’s happened once before.

Chatting to someone for a couple of months, finally arranged to meet at 1pm today. I rearranged a doctors appointment. Ran about sorting a few things this morning. Gave the house a quick tidy. Put the heating up. Sent message with address and directions, and where to park. Even switched on outside light to make it easier to find my house. Showered, shaved and put clean clothes on. Put the cat outside. Received a message at 12.30 saying looking forward to meet. I replied, me too. Gave them my phone number in case they got lost, or if they had to cancel last moment. And…yes. You’ve guessed it, they didn’t turn up. Did I receive a text message or phone call explaining why they couldn’t come? Nope. But four hours later they blocked me! How rude. If you decide you don’t want to meet at the last moment, have the decency and politeness to either message on here, or text.

I always look at these things contextually

Your are in a warm and tidy house

Your cat has had some springtime adventures

You're in a better position than many

Admittedly frustrating when you're looking forward to something, but chalk it up to experience

I think most of us have been led a merry dance at some point

Sometimes I’d like to log on and browse the forums without getting inundated by folk messaging me because I’m showing as online. Sometimes I’m just not feeling chatty. Totally me and not them.

It would be nice to have a “online/offline” indicator where you can mark yourself as offline, instead of having to hide profile.

Lol thank you dynamite. The cat is fine, a real hunter, she loves being outside so she doesn’t mind. And be rest assured, she’s never thrown out, lol, placed her on the garden bench in the sun. Yes I agree, things can go wrong, but send a message, don’t just block four hours later. Thinking about it I think it was cold feet, any other reason they would have sent a message and not block. I suppose the fact they’d joined a year ago and had no verifications should have been a red flag.

People that put answers to opening message questions on their profile eg. DONT ASK ME - "How are you? - I'm fine for the 300th time today" " You look great - I'm aware" "How's your day been? - Fantastic". Anyone with half a brain cell should realise that in an opening message, if someone is asking how you are or how your day has been is not a personal attack and it's not them going out of their way to waste your time. I wouldn't even say it's a copy and paste. It's an act of kindness and you should return the question. Crazy behaviour for me..
