How Far?

It's probably fair to describe my location as remote. There isn't much to the North, South or East and to the West is the Irish Sea.

How far would you travel or exoect others to travel to meet?

What good and bad experiences have you had with those a litte further away than you'd like?

One of FWB lived 3 hours away. We spent weekends together, at theirs and at ours.

For the right people we would travel but we wouldn’t meet someone far away without having already met them. If we met in a club or an organised social and got on then we’d travel as far as necessary then.

I've travelled long distances for social meets but wouldn't do it for sex as I like to see people fairly regularly, and unfortunately don't have the time for frequent travelling.

I've travelled as far as Edinburgh which didn't take long and was a regular basis weekend fun. All in all it's always been roughly 2 hours or just over

Same as this really. As I don't drive it makes it trickier and I probably wouldn't travel maybe more than an hour for an initial meet up so Leeds/Liverpool would be the maximum I would travel and it would probably have to be daytime so I can get a train back.

But I meet people all the time at clubs who live allover the country and if we know the chemistry and connection is there and we want to see eachother again I will travel 3/4 hours and spend a weekend together if funds/schedules allow. I've done a bus, three trains one way and then a 40 minute drive at the other end, plus the same back two days later before. It just wouldn't be an every week thing 😅

I can't drive and have a rule of not spending more on the train than on the hotel which keeps me pretty much limited to a roughly 50 mile radius but ONLY if the meet is 100% guaranteed. I like visiting new places but if I'm going there to get fucked I kinda would actually like to get fucked.

I've travelled to Devon from North Yorkshire in the past to spend time with someone. Obviously, I wouldn't do that frequently. Currently I travel just over 2 hours a couple of times a month.

I’d travel to Scotland and then wales, and then Ireland and back to England hopefully picking up some women on the way.

If they are worth it, I’d get at least 2 buses.

.

I don't have any expectation on how far I expect the other to travel. That's their choice. I'd feel a tad uncomfortable if it was quite some distance and it was solely for the purpose of seeing me and we'd not met before.

How far I travel depends on how invested I am. My biggest hurdle is time, financially I'm cool but time wise? I'm poor. I don't really do the club thing, I quite like socials as an informal, less pressured way of meeting someone.

I've generally always had positive experiences when I've travelled a little bit - I wouldn't be travelling if I didn't think we'd get along.

Y'know!

£150 to Cambridge, more to skeggy. If I wanted to go to VA for example, I'm looking at 160-180 before accomodation.

Wherever the wind takes me

I can’t travel far due to home life commitments and also the financial costs.

I’d not expect anyone to travel far to meet me, as I can’t commit to more than a few hours with them.

I'd travel for parties, clubs and socials.

I always found after the initial social guys where happy to come to me as I could accommodate which was a bonus

Would only travel an hour (but only after plenty of chats to make sure genuine)

I travel with work occasionally so sometimes meet people far from home but obviously in the area I’m staying.

I'm not a fan of people travelling long distances to meet me. Unless they're in the area for something else and I'm a detour, I am okay with that. Feels like too much pressure. It'd be different if we'd met already.

I've travelled to the north (does Manchester count as the north?) for sex and didn't end up with any sex so my patience for travelling to meet others is quite low as well.

I think it's all down to the connection and the commitment to each other that's key...I'd like to think we'd all have the sense not to travel for hours for a fuck

Thanks everyone, that has given me some food for thought.

It seems that maybe heading to a club or social events would be best. Make a few connections that I might like to travel to.

With that said, the nearest club is Blackpool so still over two hours!

Anyone want to chip in and start a club in Cumbria?

Next Door

I would travel a few hours to meet someone. I would have had calls/messaging before that so not quite going in blind.

As for someone travelling to me, I wouldn't expect anyone to travel but it's nice when they do.

If a regular thing was developing then I would like both willing to travel to make it work.

I personally wouldn't travel too far, especially for a first meet.

In the past, when single, I've been to Leicester and Liverpool for meets. However I knew the people & we'd met before.

I get totally baffled when people 250 miles away start messaging me, because it's not realistic at all.

I wouldn't go to them & I wouldn't want someone to travel so far to me. I feel like they'd be expecting more than just a social for if they came a fair way.

The majority of my connections through here are with those out of my city/town as I tend to travel further afield to go to clubs. My partner is in Northamptonshire and my FWB is based in Cardiff way and seeing them both regularly has very little issues. Neither myself or either of them drive too.

If we were to meet in a public setting like a club first and hit it off, then I’d have no issue travelling to meet someone.
