"Limit carbs in the form of white bread, pasta for a start." Disagree, everything in moderation and to the OP I don't believe in fad diets or diets full stop. Eat healthy, cooking yourself will ensure that and everything in moderation, exercise of course but don't need to be a gym bunny!

"Seriously try slimming world. I (mrs) joined in the middle of jan and i have lost just over 2 stone to date and my other half has not joined but as a family we all eat the recipes and he has lost over a stone. Its not a diet as such its more a healthy eating plan. Good luck " Fantastic reward, I (Mr) joined weight watchers 4 years ago and lost 5 stone, and it stayed off. And the high level of men at my meetingiis encouraging and a little competitive, which really motivates.

"Hi all just a question on how my fella can lose some weight he's been wanting to do it for a while but keeps stumbling on what foods to avoid and it's knocked his confidence so that's why we're having a break from swinging so any tips or suggestions will be gratefully received (miss d) so we can get back into the swing of things " get your normal meal cut everything in half then scrape half on one plate and put that away then before you eat your half portion drink a point of water then have your meal then another class of water after it ! The water will not stay with you but will trick your mind to tell you your full and you've halved your food intake

"Put in fewer calories than you burn. " That's the only way to do it, but sadly many people don't want to listen, they just want to make excuses!

"Less food, more movement. Simples." Doesn't come any simpler than that advice. Eat less exercise more and have some discipline.

" Carbs are fine if they are complex carbs like wholewheat pasta, it's the white refined stuff you should limit.
