Well funny you should mention them on a thread the other day I mentioned them in context of a medical appointment.

I have two at the base of my spine I was informed by a chiropractor that it's an indicator of spina bifida!

Then he told me not to worry as if I'd gotten to this point in life without issues I am probably ok.

Have a Google it'll explain it better than I.
