what's the craziest wackiest horror film you have ever seen ?

Durham

Me and violet love a crazy horror film that just goes balls to the wall so we need recommendations. The more obscure the better.

One of ours that we went into completely blind was society 1989 and my God did the last act really go for it, once seen never forgotten.

I don’t know about any wacky ones but I love the 2003 remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and I love House of 1000 corpses and The Devils Rejects.

The Deep Dark Woods

Antichrist and The House That Jack Built are pretty out there.

Also Martyrs and Audition

Can't bring myself to watch A Serbian Film, I like dark stuff and watch a lot with a morbid fascination, but hear so much about it on blogs and I think it's too much.

Yeah we would agree when it comes to a Serbian film it's not for us from what we have been told. We went into canabil ha (the video nasty) and that was alot haha. We will add them 3 to the watch list, thank you! And is audition the Japanese film or a different one ?

It’s the Jessica Biel and Jonathan Tucker one, it has a real sweaty grimy feel like the original.

A horror film called “the video dead” think there was something crazy in it where if you put a mirror “reflection”side against the screen the dead could not pass………maybe it was not that but that memory is there of that being a thing in a film lol

Yes the Japanese audition I quite enjoy the Japanese/Korean horrors more than Hollywood ones as I find them much more creepy/scary

When it comes to Asian horror we are a little blind too it so I think it's something we need educating on as would love to get into it, other than the big ones like audition and ringu

I'm really not keen on David cronenberg's films. They're a bit too esoteric.

My friend the horror afficionado would say " Rubber". It's about a sentient tyre that kills people by shuddering at them. I loved it, she... Not so much lol.

1313 Mockingbird Lane…

Behold! The King Of Horror & Halloween is in the hizz-ouse!

MWAH HA HAHAHA! 🎃

ICHI THE KILLER - Maybe the goriest & sexually perverse gangster movie of all time from Japan.

You must have seen CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST?

SALÒ, or THE 120 DAYS OF SODOM.

A bunch of Italian libertines in 1945 kidn*p 18 teenagers & torture them.

GUINEA PIG 2: FLOWER OF FLESH & BLOOD?

The movie Charlie Sheen demanded the FBI investigate.

I could on forever, but I’ll leave you with that

You’re welcome

Well a few old horrors I can reccomend but they are more 70s

THEATRE OF BLOOD/Shakespeare sort theme tales but good

THE ABOMINABLE DR PHIBES/bizarre tale of a man that tries to get revenge on the doctors that supposedly didn't do enough to save his wife

DR PHIBES RISES AGAIN/2nd part he has these like sized clock work musicians nothing more bizarre than that

All 3 have Vincent Price

We enjoyed a couple of his films particularly shivers, crash and Videodrome but can see how his work can be very hit and miss for people.

We watched a film with a similar sorta vibe with a pair of killer jeans and it was hilarious. Think it was called slaxxs

We seen companion some months back as part of a test screening and really enjoyed it, i think the trailer may have ruined it for many but us and the rest of the screen was completely blind to the little twist so was a good watch

Yeah, I'd heard to avoid the trailer and went in blind. Damn good fun and a cynical commentary undertone too. Similar commentary to The Substance actually 👍

The Babadook. Got it after seeing Mark Kermode say how good he thought it was and it is properly, horribly disturbing. Also...

OP, have you seen The Void or John Carpenter’s In The Mouth of Madness?

Both very much leaning into gloopy, mind bending Lovecraftian cosmic horror.

Also, not sure if it counts as ‘crazy’ but Caveat is a recent horror that got right under my skin.
