Anyone else on fab receive messages from potential meets then they hit you with:

"I would drive to you but I don't have the fuel"

I assume in the hope that they turn up and meet you offer to wire them money then they delete their account and repeat ?

Clearly a scam!

Anyone else getting these type of messages ?

If someone falls for that, then to be honest they deserve to be scammed.

Even if you are aware that it's a scam have you given any thought as to why it's happening?

You said messages so I can only assume it wasn't a one off?

I've never experienced this or anything similar in 9 years so it raises the question as to how you are vetting those you are chatting to?

If you send money to anyone you’ve never stood in front of and looked in the face, you’re an idiot who deserves to be ripped off.

Maybe.

It's the second time someone has tried the same scam which may suggest they are targeting the Midlands and not Belfast.

Maybe because there are a larger pool of users ? Either that or Midlanders are more gullible.
