Just as the title says....

What's the best bit of advice or the main thing you would say to your newer swinging self?

Really looking forward to seeing everyone's responses ☺️

Don't worry about that scar, you're the only person bothered by it.

Also, when you discover it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you, you're simply a masochist and that's totally fine

Trust your gut and don't believe everything everyone says. People will say anything to get what they want, that doesn't mean they aren't saying something completely different behind your back.

It’s a very helpful thread especially for us just starting out we’ve only had one meet but we really enjoyed it . It was a very soft meet but perfect for our first time (mr)

People like you and want you to talk to them.

I'm still pretty new and I do have a lot of confidence or I wouldn't go to the club in the first place and 100% not dressed the way I do, but it's still a challenge not to feel like everyone else is judging me harshly for what I am.

Expect the unexpected.

You're going to question everything you thought you knew about yourself, go with it!

Mine would be don't overthink stuff and enjoy it, it's meant to be fun so make it fun.

And,

Don't try and second guess people or their behaviours. Fabs a weird place and some people's actions just can't be explained.

Most people are insecure too. Be brave and do the asking.

Also don't worry too much about being a bit awkward. Apparently it's endearing 🤣

Mine would be don't take rejection so personally - everyone has their own types, criteria, wants and needs. Just because you're not one person's cup of tea doesn't mean you're not someone else's glass of champagne

Thank you 😊

The fear of rejection used to make me so shy of even approaching people when we first started swinging but now I just see it as preferences rather than rejection 😊

For me just be more forthcoming with people I fancy in clubs. Although I genuinely mistrust my judgement on if attraction is reciprocated, its that mistrust I should mistrust. Because experience shows me that when I do make a move it's genrally successful. Nearly always I've read it right. And if not a polite no thanks is hardly the worse thing in the world. So it is frustrating to know I've missed opportunities in the past that could have been so hot. It's something I'm starting to make a consecutive to push my comfort zone and rectify.

Saying 'No' is perfectly acceptable. Don't fall into the trap of not wanting to hurt someone's feelings and going ahead with something you're not 100% with.
