It really depends what the doing is?

If it’s too manipulate then yes most definitely, if it’s because you feel you’re being ignored then maybe not

Where’s the line?

Someone dressing nicely and nice lingerie or smelling nice etc to get the attention of their partner or potential partner then I’d say go for it.

Someone posting crap about you to get your attention then definitely not

I think most people need a little bit of attention sometimes and I don’t see a problem with it. Taking it to far can cause issues tho (mr)

With kids, if you don't give them attention, they'll take it. All behaviour is communication. 🤷‍♀️

On here, every pic shared, most threads started and messages sent are for attention of some kind be it that of strangers or friends.

I don't think it's a bad thing but I am picky in what I give my attention to in adults.

Whatever ‘it’ is, if the only reason it’s being done is for attention then I would question how good that is.

Obviously I would exclude the seeking of attention for the purposes of summoning help, or alerting others to danger.

Isn’t it a little bit of why we’re all here? The attention is nice…..however if we do something and become dependant or expectation the attention it becomes an issue….

Why we do something I think is key…are you void filling? Is it a distraction? Or merely something that makes you feel nice and warm every now and again?!

It is. But with adults I can ignore the behaviour that I dislike of those I have no connection to.

It depends on what it is, of course. I like attention off the right people, and obviously post pics for the attention of others because I don't like them, do I 🙈

But when you're constantly baiting in the comments because you're being ignored in the inbox, it gets a little boring. 🤷‍♀️ It gives FB "inbox me hun" crew. 😬🤣

In small, focused amounts it is normal and healthy, an expression of confidence and desire to communicate with others.

As a way of being, it's probably a symptom of an underlying and unhealthy personality issue.

I used to comment on the forums just to get noticed and have people look at my profile.

I used to make an effort with my profile and new pics so that those who looked might like what they saw.

Neither approach really made a huge difference to my experience so if I comment on a thread now it's because I have something to say and I'm not really bothered if it draws people to my profile or not.

Similarly with any pics I post. I never get more than 4 or 5 fabs and those are always from people on my friends list.

If I was posting pics just for attention I would have given up a long time ago so now they are there because I enjoy taking them. What happens after that is irrelevant.
