How do you feel about winks?

I would much prefer to get a message. Do people find it intimidating to message? Or is it laziness or am I missing something?

If the profile is largely empty and there isn't even enough detail to use a name in a greeting then sometimes a wink is all that remains.

No one winks me though, but then my profile is long winded.

I think it's fine. Quite often initial contact 😊 starts with eyes, before words so I don't see an issue with an online representation of that.

I love a little corner of the eye glance, cheeky smile or wink. A stare and an eyebrow raise or a finger beckoning can be pretty sexy too.

"I think they are pointless "

It's a wink not a finger

Being serious though. For a single man messaging a women and with the knowledge said lady receives so much mail, the likelihood his message (that he's put effort into) will get bulk deleted. Sometimes a wink while they're online and reciprocated. A follow up message will then be looked for and read? That's my logic anyway.

It's hard work writing something original and getting rejected. Just like job application form: it's mentally draining.

I use winks just to try and attract attention, i stopped sending out messages years back as this site was increasingly getting saturated with single males. Not everyone uses this function or even looks at them, but it has had positive outcomes for me in the past.

I rarely wink but sometimes I may see a profile that may not necessarily be seeking the dreaded “solo guy” and I understand I’m stuck in the sausage fest crowd in the corner that no one wants so sometimes I’ll see a profile which is really really really fucking hot and I can’t walkt by it and it says something like

“Single guys were not seeking right now and don’t message us but when I/we do we will seek you out….. so rather than annoy the individual with a message a wink indicates I’m here, I’m willing and when you are looking hopefully you’ll hear me in me along with the other 10,000+ horned up cocks in your category….. 😉😆

So for me it’s actually etiquette rather than leaving a long winded message… starting with “Hey”

Hasn’t worked yet mind but the intention was right…. For any women or couples seeking men I definitely take time to read the profile and send a bespoke funny message of I can x - I’ll send you one next 😉😋😈

Not to create a rift…… but based on the replies above… couple of facts….

This site is a Sausage fest…. So the “no solo guys” brigade is perfectly fine as I’m sure ladies and couples are inundated with guys etc….

But having said that as a newbie decent normal guy who’s recently joined I find some of the tone from ladies accounts borderline arrogant ie a list of DOs/Donts

Even this question…. Women/Couples getting pissed off or annoyed that someone has the audacity to wink at them…. Seriously? It’s a statement of affection…. Maybe the winners are trying to be subtle as they are conscious it’s an unbalanced pudding fest

I just think it’s an imbalance of genders which potentially over powers or overwhelms women/couples who hold all the cards here….. which is fine but let’s remain civil……

Plus if you don’t want solo males winning then filter them all out and problem solved………

Sorry but as a decent, normal sound “solo guy” I feel like I’m some inferior sex fiend who shouldn’t have the audacity to wink at someone you fancy…. Like seriously it’s a harmless expression of endearment….

I largely ignore them. I have always felt like a wink is when people aren't 100% sure if they are interested yet and want to test the waters. I've had people wink, I've winked back and then nothing else. If you'd like to interact with me you're better off sending a message I'll more likely take notice.

I would say it is the other way round: when I am not 100% sure YOU are interested and want to test the waters.

I do agree if you wink back then the onus is on the original person to message.

I will occasionally wink men if I feel they might be of interest to me, this then allows them to look at my profile and reach out if they are interested.

I only check my received winks rarely… if someone who has winked looks or sounds appealing to me I will wink back.

I rarely send a first message unless someone really catches my eye, so it’s a way to show I might be interested

I see the wink as a show of interest in someone. If they then wink back you know they will be receptive to receiving a message from you, because sometimes you are just not sure if you fit what they are looking for.

Surely a wink to test the water is better than a cut and paste message.

The problem is that everybody views winks in a different way. If there were a prescribed use for what they are to be used for, maybe they would be more useful.

I always thought it was a nice way of letting somebody know you're interested, if it's reciprocated then that opens dialogue...but evidently they're seen by a lot of people as pointless.

I suppose if you get 100s/1000s it can become tedious. But if you only get 1 a month like I do, it can be quite exciting 😂

Since we’ve put in our profile that we straight delete messages that have a blank avatar/cock pic/action shots, the amount of winks we’ve had from those profiles have gone up

We do look at winks but 99.9% of them are ignored as they don’t fit our preferences.

The Wink function isn't lazy, it's a simple "I like your profile and if you like mine wink or message back".

I always respond to winks. What's annoying though is when you message a profile that's winked at you, for them to totally blank you.

People have all sorts of agendas on this site and nobody quite knows; how many are genuine profiles compared to the fakers 🤷‍♂️

Hello

Thanks for all the replies they on the whole have been really useful! 🤣

I think there's some lost in translation when it comes to communication between men and couples or single women.

From the replies it seems on the whole that single men think it's a way to show initial interest whereas couples or single women think it's much nicer to get a message.

You must do whatever you feel is best for you on here. However if you have read someone's profile and you think you fit their preferences then I would say maybe just send them a message.

Btw I only ignore messages where the person has clearly not read my profile or ignores my clearly stated preference.
