"So I recently messaged someone I didn't know on the back of a photograph that I liked. When I clicked on the profile, it turned out they had previously messaged me, but I couldn't see the actual message (just the notification that says messaged xx months ago) Anyway I messaged, they replied and we met up. If they'd blocked me because I didn't reply all those months ago, then we wouldn't have met you. So sometimes you never know. Why actively make your lake into a pond? " This ![]()

"...Is it too extreme to just block people I have messaged and they haven't replied?" Yes. Some people do a blanket 'delete all' in order to clear out their ever-increasing inboxes, giving the impression you're being summarily dismissed. There have been one or two occasions where I've (unintentionally) deleted messages only to bump into them at a social...and found them quite charming.
