If the profile wasn’t appealing or doesn’t say anything other than message me to find out more, we’d just move on to another profile which intrigued us instead 😊

So it kind of doesn’t matter as much what’s written in the message - if a profile doesn’t say much, then the conversation wouldn’t get off the ground.

You've got to have potential mutual compatibility.

If it's not there, then they still have dozens of others to check through and there's no point in using effort to reply, when it's not going anywhere.

Perhaps 1% of people are mutually compatible but people tend to err towards contacting the best of those that they like, making the odds far fewer than 1 in 100 contacted, who will be mutually compatible.

Realistic expectations help to reduce disappointment and increase effort levels invested
