Do you wear outside shoes in the house?

Jump to newest

By *hagTonight OP   Man

From the land of haribos.

I try to get them of asap and throw them in the closet when I get home, just so I dont get the dirt on the floor and get it dirty you know, who wants that, noone, because that would be a bit more mess to clean up, if I did that, having said that, it is not like I have a lot of mud on the shoes and I dont track in the mud so often, so I dont get the shoes extra dirty. I mostly walk on sidewalks and roads, so I might have it on a bit at home, but I try to take them off straight away.

It would be interesting to see if you wear outside shoes in the house?

Nope, they're taken off as soon as we come through front door, and left behind the door so the next person through the door struggled to open it due to the shoes

Do it because the outside is slightly more dirty than inside and also my cats get under our feet and we don't want to step on them with our heavy shoes

Laughed at the shoes blocking the door, same as at my house. Every time I get a delivery I'm like "hang ooooon" and chucking shoes out of the way. Glad it's not just me 😅

I often don't take mine off until I'm getting ready to go to bed (I have wood flooring and tiles throughout my house). I always seem to be busy or doing something in the evenings. If I take them off I won't do the things I need to do. I know I can put them on again, but taking my shoes off for me signifies relaxing time , if I take my shoes off my brain will switch to that, even when I don't want it to.

I'm sitting here on my sofa in mu boots waiting for a taxi.

I have to sit down to remove my footwear. With my dogs in and out of the garden all day I don't worry about me or my boys coming in now and then.

I won't walk outside in my slippers though, as I put my feet up on my footstool. So I change into outdoor shoes to put the bins out.

Here's an interesting fact, you are more likely to complete a task when you walk in your house if you leave your shoes on. Apparently, once you take your shoes off you are more likely to sit down and chill. It's actually a life hack for us neurodivergent folk to help is get things done!. So for instance, say you bring your food shop in and keep your shoes on, you are more likely to put it all away right away if you leave your shoes on. It's like you braian sees taking off your shoes as a cue to relax.

Lifes Departure Lounge

I keep mine on, I have wooden flooring throughout the ground floor, Dont wear them upstairs.

My 3 grandkids come over once or twice a week bringing with them 3 12 month old Labro Doodle dogs fresh from a run around the local park, Can hardly ask the dogs to wipe their feet, Pointless taking my shoes off.

I am always happy to remove my shoes if requested when visiting.

I can wear the dirtiest footwear indoors, yet still not sully the carpet!

Also, it's completely pointless when I end up running wet and mucky tyres into the house and there's absolutely no way to avoid it. This is why we have wood floors near enough everywhere.

Pretty much the same here, all hard floors downstairs so I'm not bothered what anyone wears.

Upstairs socks or bear feet only.

I'll always make an exception for a lady in heals though,😁

Around the Midlands

Shoes off by the front door unless we have friends over in which case they can keep them on downstairs which is tiled but take them off if stepping anywhere that has carpet.

We have had the odd incident where we run back in having forgotten something and keep our shoes on, but not often!
