Yes 😁 Ended up in NHS therapy, and after a certain amount of time was told I needed more therapy than they could give.

I failed therapy. Who fails therapy 🤣

It happens to a lot of us sometimes. I hope you are ok. Just do one or two of the important stuff and don't think of everything or will continue to overwhelm you. Sorry to here andcwish you all the best.

No, I couldn't survive a all plate dropping emotional burnout. Tai chi helps me keep my plates spinning at a rate I can cope with

You can't "fail" therapy, therapy is like a tool it's not a treatment. Just because you have a tool for a job doesn't mean it's the right one to do it.

I got dumped by a shrink. In a professional sense.

This place helps me, sometimes. Stupid as that may sound. Gives me energy, when other things are draining it.

Flirt with me for a while, and I can go another 10 rounds with everything else in life.

Sometimes here helps, you can open up to some people and they listen and have no judgement, where as in life family and friends you find you don't want to burden. Yes some tools to help are better than others I've found

I can't cope with 3 things at once.

Have you had your bloods checked?

Or resting breathing measured

(12 bpm is normal 24 bpm is quite bad)

Gut health is really important too, as this can cause a ripple/spillover effect that can ruin your happiness.

The gut-brain link is real and needs a lot more research.

I’m very healthy.. just going through a lot and lack of sleep etc. I’ll be grand.

I'm impressed. I only had a dozen plates to spin, but I still had the crash last year. Thankfully, I sought help and it did work for me, I'm back spinning more than ever (although the sleep issues remain! 😖)

Yip. Life is bloody hard sometimes and spinning those plates is so damn hard but we have to keep going. Every now and again I crash…..but I’m ok with that, I step back for a bit catch my self and keep going. I know when I’m going to crash learning this has helped and we’re trying to change things.

You’re not alone! We’re all a bit crazy here!…. finding what works for you is key. Escapism is good but dealing with the cause is also a good thing long term to do.

No , I know my limits and very happy saying no to stuff and people.

The way I look at things is we have to say lots of No’s so that we can say a massive YES to the small number of very important things

Been known to burn the candle at both ends on more than one occasion and ended up burning myself out. Nothing serious, just to the point where I didn't want to do anything for a few months.

Probably not? I have ambitions to do all the things. But I end up getting bored that some of those things Are Not Fun so stop them. But then my work is not one of those things that stresses me out or is a drain on my energy.

The Deep Dark Woods

I have struggled with this over the last couple of years for various personal reasons. I'm a terrible one for bottling things up and shouldering things myself so as not to dump on people. And it sounds a bit faffy, but I find stuff like guided meditation really helps recently. I have struggled sleeping on many occasions and have used medication in the past, but I find meditation and structured breathing in the evening time really helps. Only takes like 20 mins and it activates my parasympatheric nervous system and calms me down/relaxes me in a way I didn't expect. Stress can have such a damaging effect on your body in so many ways and not just your mind. It's a way of controlling your body's response and switching the stress button off. I find it makes me feel much more resilient and better able to handle stress. Obviously the stress is still there, but my body handles it in a different way.

That probably sounds really poncey which isn't the case, but it's just one tool I've found helps me to cope with some of the stresses in my life.

One thing’s for sure - stress impacts your body as much as your mind. There’s a reason a massage (or a fuck!) can relax us so much.

Yeah. I ended up off work for months quite recently.

It’s hard but you have to look after numbers 1. And talk to people to get support.

I got very close to this and didn't want to become a victim to it (multi plate spinning); I went to a 3 day week and now refuse to take on more than I can handle.

Losing 2/5th of may wage took some adjustments (I have pensions that I draw) but it's do-able.

I'm 40% poorer but 100% less stressed 😃

Absolutely this is one of the firsts things I was asked at the osteopath! Any dress or past trauma…gets stored in the body
