I used to have one. Now I try to be a bit more zen about life. Can't change to so why get angry.

And it also irritates the shit out of those who get angry with you!

I saw the temper I could have inherited when I was little and have spent 40 years desperately trying not to be that person. I'm far from placid and I do get angry, but not physically.

never had a temper until.....my 40s. Lol! It's getting worse and I now realise I'm in my Karen era.

Hormones, BPD and autism do not go well together. short of avoiding people and popping a sedative not much else I can do. luckily I live alone and am now off sick from work so I don't need to see people when I'm feeling grateful.

If you are eligible for HRT take it. I'm too young to receive it on the NHS...estrogen still too high and periods still too regular. So I just have to suffer...and anyone around me. Lol!

I’ve always been level headed and not react so fast. Even watching football doesn’t get me angry now.

I just let things go now and I can honestly say that my life is better for it.

Yes I'm fiery and have a temper, and an extremely short fuse.

However,I let a lot of shit go as it's not worth being in poor form as a result of it.

Now I don't get anger or bothered, I'm just done.

I'm generally good at controlling my temper, a bit like how Bruce Banner learned to control when he turns into The Hulk in Marvel's Avengers... I'm always angry! 😜 The only difference is that I don't become green and muscle-bound... 🤣

Also, there's nothing a good pillow scream can't usually fix 😉😜

I have a temper, just as everyone has, I don’t loose control of it, anyone or anything that feels the full force of the wrong side of it will be doing so under complete control and will have fully deserved it.

Yes, I can become emotionally dysregulated but the majority of the time that is hypoarousal rather than hyperarousal.

I guess it depends on what you mean by control, I am very aware of my emotional state. I accept that I am entering into dissociative states. That's probably appears to be control, as in I am not acting out behaviourally - expressing anger etc. I can't control it though, I've just got accustomed to it and accept it.

I am so good with it that can be rather disarming. There is nothing to be gained by having a temper. Sometimes to the annoyance of others I am sure. I always speak and respond to any situatios calmly. Best way imo.

Reading

In a lot of situations - with my children, at work, just generally I am very quick to anger.

Where I struggle is being sensitive with people closest to me. And when things set me off and my first reaction can sometimes be to see red and lose my shit. It's usually brief and some (because of distance etc) aren't even aware that I'm having this reaction.

I do generally calm down and talk to them about it (or apologise) fairly quickly though. And I feel like I'm getting better at it. Dealing with it after and also better communicating things to help prevent those trigger points.

When I was young temper was bad would fly off at slightest thing

Over years learnt to control it well and be the better person

Now I’m as laid back as that but if and when I go I go but that’s once in a decade

When you lose your head you’ve lost the fight

As for the wife we dont argue much we tend to sort things quick

If we argue she just takes her bra off and its game over she’s won 😂

Younger I used to but I grew up and am pretty chill on the whole. I’m lucky with the family I have and the advice I was given. The more you fly off the handle and can’t regulate your emotions the easier it is to fall into unhealthy patterns and relationships. If your emotions are high and predictable it’s easy to exploit. I feel a lot more in control now I’ve got a handle on it

Unless I’m driving of course. Zero chill, only rage

Apparently, he's actually a nice guy. He's crazy on Hell's Kitchen but that's because they're providing a professional service. On the kids' show, however, he's really nice to the kids. And there used to be a TV show about him and his family and he seemed pretty chill on that, too.

It’s never too late, and I would recommend it for most people. Self discipline, self control, and hard work. Our little one is going to start at 5 😂

Bedfuck

August 1981 a Michael Jackson song came on the radio in my car, the DJ went on and on how great the song was and how great Michael Jackson was. I saw red, I pulled over and kicked the radio in the dash to smithereens with my high heel boot. My mate just looked at me stunned.

Now I just change channels.

Still have a bad temper but depends who or what I'm dealing with.

Something inanimate usually gets the physical damage, verbally I don't hesitate to speak my mind, my cussing goes to whole other level.

Same here. Growing up around someone who could explode over the smallest thing was horrible. It takes a lot to really rile me up, and even when I do get angry, I’m pretty good at regulating my emotions and expressing them in a way that doesn’t hurt or distress anyone.

Reading many of the posts here and I mean MANY

There is a threat of violence ( not clear if it's verbal or physical or both ) that people seem to wear as a badge of honour.

Your anger is yours. It's an emotional tool and you summon it at will.

No one is angry. You have to decide to use that tool.

And if anger is all you have or is your first port of call....... you must be HORRIBLE to be with and live with.

I wouldn't listen to a domestic abuser say they were pushed to far and I'm not prepared to take it here either.

And that was said without one ounce of anger or temper.

Somewhere near here

I don’t have a temper nor do I get angry. It’s a wasted energy that’s contagious, and would never get what you want or have a coherence to it. When others around me display anger or a temper I tense up and really hate the feeling, it takes me a few days to shake it off - and that’s just as a bystander.
