Does anyone remember the old chat system on the O2 network? It must have been 20 years ago, and you had to send various commands to the number 2428?

For example ?0161 would show you users in the manchester area.

I can't remember what it was called but I do remember around 2002, the chat thing on my phone.

I fell in love with someone on it. 🥰

We chatted for ages which then led to phone calls, sending each other parcels and 2 years later, I went to Manchester to meet him.

We are still friends.

Yes I remember it well, I was addicted to it, my username was wimp and despite the name I used to get alot of messages from females, oh and there definitely was alot of males pretending to be females. It was a great service but got expensive if you wasn't on a text plan .

I think it was called text n flirt

And was exclusive to 02 .

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I was addicted to it too. I remember a few occasions I’d start chatting to somebody and I’d be invited over the same evening
