There are some gorgeous, well taken, horn inspiring pictures on here, and then there are some where you’d have to wonder if the picture taker even looked at it before they posted it.

How much effort do you put into the pictures you post on here? And how much weight do you put on other peoples pictures when deciding whether to make contact.

I've honestly never spent more than 5 minutes on any photo and that includes cropping and adjusting the light.

I don't make first contact with anyone so their pics are irrelevant. If they get in touch with me any decision to meet will be based on lengthy conversations rather than anything they have on their profile.

I expected there'd be more replies on this.

I spend some time editing my photos, fixing lighting, cropping etc but I'm no pro and my skills in photo editing are limited.

The backgrounds of people's pictures will change my mind. Did you really not think to move yourself away from the toilet? Of all the corners of your lounge you took it where there's photos in the background?

Could you not have at least edited those things out afterwards?

I take plenty beucase they not just for the profile but mee too... 10 yrs from now I can remind myself how I looked and not have any self doubt in confidence. I look back at photos of me 20 years ago, you forget how you looked naked.... But it's a confidence boost for myself. Self love and all. It's the usual take about 20pics and your happy with one... Crop it down and post...

I wish I had the artistic flair to do dab photos but unfortunately I just snap 4 or 5 photos, crop out as much personal items and a cat as I can, then see if I prefer the photo in colour or black and white, so 5 minutes max on a photo.

I do like to look at other people's photos and I agree OP it does look like a small majority of people don't look before posting,

Photography is a passion, so our pictures are taken with care. The time involved varies greatly, depending on whether it’s spontaneous or a considered idea that we have to set up. But these pictures aren’t taken for you lot, we make them for ourselves and only share a few. We don’t give any thought to how other people might perceive them.

I am lucky that I have a decent wall and lightning in my bedroom but it gets very monotonous when all the pics are the same, so I really like hotels + air bnbs for a change in light and scenery.

I will remove distractions from pictures if I didn't spot them in time - like I have a cord for the ceiling hatch above my head that sometimes falls down and is visible

I like the process of an idea, a concept, trying to make it a reality, then cut/trim it, tone it, to see how close the finished thing is to the idea. Sometimes I just point and shoot.

Either way, I definitely pay attention to how photos are presented; not just to see how someone looks (and all you Mo-fo's commenting here, looking goooood!), but you get an idea of people's style, character and wavelength.

I try my best - I really enjoy photography, but not of myself. I find it difficult to know which angles look best and then actually take photos from that angle. Most of my photos are one in a hundred attempts

I find it really attractive when others have good photos; I'm attracted to creative people

Probably 96% of pics I try and take get deleted before they get anywhere near FAB.

I hate how I look.

Think it’s body dysmorphia and ‘L’ tried her best to give me confidence but I just don’t feel it.

I also have no idea what appeals and what not.

Sloppiness or mess definitely puts me off.

I find good lighting or angles to be a real turn on. I want this person to be thinking about what would look most appealing.

0.25%.

My photos are incredibly far from well taken and horn inducing but I try a little bit. I take a couple, don't mind one and whack it on. Vag power.

Some people aren't photogenic/great at taking photos, as long as it's not featuring a toilet or something grim... I'm not *too* critical.

I put a lot of effort into my photos. For every photo I post I have about 50 others I've taken and deleted as I am quite self critical. I try to show a realistic portrayal of what I both look like and my style/personality as much as I can through my photos. I want to be appealing, so I make an effort.

I very much appreciate it when others also make an effort with the types of photos they post. Bad photos are really off putting.

I used to put a little bit of effort in. With others, along as they're not too messy, I don't mind.

For me I just want to see a picture that gives a good representation of what they actually look like. With clever angles, it never fails to surprise me when I meet someone and they're considerably larger or older than their pictures would suggest.

I enjoy looking at the well crafted photos and admire the work that's gone into them, but I do think the more 'basic' photos are likely to be a better representation of what someone actually looks like. For that reason I know mine are mediocre at best but they are recent and accurate.

As someone whose weight fluctuates, it can be hard keeping photos current and showing my 'accurate' body, but I try and keep up. I don't mind if I meet someone and they're not *exactly* as their photos suggested they'd be: life happens.

I personally attempt to sort photo's to my liking within the scene via lighting, remove unnecessary items pre taking a photo. Afterwards a quick 2 min edit in snapspeed, and done, post it.

I think spending 1 hr in photoshop etc is wasted but only if your promoting your photographer/photoshop skills or selling something, i suspect very few most liked photos here where taken DLSR cameras in a studio, moreover a phone camera.

That's why face pics are so important to me. The most attractive features on a person (to me, at least) are their eyes, smile, hair and face. These features are much less likely to drastically change (obviously hair can) compared to body shape.

Mostly I try and get a vaguely flattering angle and then crop/blur backgrounds and tats as needed.

Angles are entirely dependent on what I can balance my phone on

your wildest dreams,

Backgrounds really put me off, mess, toilets, kids stuff etc.

I take way more than I post because I like taking pics. Editing tends to be cropping and maybe lighting and or colour but I know what I like, what I want to achieve and how the light falls in my house, so often don’t need to adjust those these days. It will be mainly editing out objects I don’t want visible that maybe couldn’t be moved beforehand.

I think it took me longer to type this than create a pic 😆
