When do you think is the best month to have a baby? I think like June? Right before summer

Are you looking at expanding your family?! If so, congratulations.

I heard once (in a work quiz, so not the more reliable but it sounds true) most 'popular' date for giving birth is 25 September. As it's 9 months after Christmas when everyone has more time.

I wanted a specific age gap between mine so I worked really hard at getting that. But who knows with fertility?

Interesting! My middle one was born Sept 20th

Oldest is August - I was ridden with postnatal depression for 3 years, so can’t really say if it was a good time of the year or not. And youngest is November. Every single birthday for her has been horrible. Cold, wet, stormy…

I’d say late spring would be nice. 👶

Summer birthday celebrations and parties growing up are good

One of the youngest in the School year so might need more support.

Maternity+ paternity leave in the nice weather

The thought of having another child makes me want to do a nervous poo. But my partner and I are reflecting on her being pregnant in summer and how uncomfortable she was towards the end

I think Christmas and new years. So many September babies. Including my own.

My friend was heavily pregnant during a July heat wave (August baby). I felt so very sorry for her. All the other seasons are far easier.

I've always wondered if there was a difference in development and school performance between those born in September compared to August where they're almost a year apart, yet in the same school year 🤔

I think it’s said that the gap is pretty much reduced completely in the first few years of school. But I imagine it impacts in various other ways in school experience. I don’t think there’s much evidence it impacts school attainment though

My first child was born in late August. I really struggled with the heat through the summer whilst going through the 3rd trimester. But having the end of summer and autumn to enjoy taking the baby out was lovely.

My second child was born in early May, that year we had a heatwave in the April and I had awful split pelvis problems, which made my mobility very difficult especially with the heat too. But, it was great to have the summer months to enjoy taking the baby out.

So I think late spring births to enjoy the summer or summer births to enjoy the latter part of summer and autumn.

Definitely between June and September are the best months.

My oldest are October and November and their birthdays are always rainy and miserable

I'd agree my daughter is an early September baby. There were three heatwaves whilst I was heavily pregnant 🥵. But it also meant we only had a month or so of good weather to enjoy before winter kicked in

March would be pretty good. You get to enjoy all the warmer months, and you qualify for the free childcare hours just before the April term time.

You can absolutely see the difference in the first few years, but there's quite a lot of evidence it goes further, particularly in sports.

I think it's in a Malcolm gladwell book showing how the vast majority of professional sports players are born early in their respective countries academic years

Yeah after I posted the comment I found quite a few bits of research that suggests age impacts attainment. So older kids do better in testing and that is reflected in other countries too. Really interesting.

I honestly think March/April is ideal as it's leading into the warmer months where you can get out and about with the baby and easier meet friends in parks or outside for coffee or something to eat

My first was born late August and it was so hot and uncomfortable being heavily pregnant in the summer months. Also she started school after just turning four and I think that was really hard as they’re so young compared to the Sept/Oct/November born children.

My second was born late February so much cooler weather for pregnancy although there was a lot of snow that year and I fell over a lot 😄

School wise though it was much better as she didn’t feel quite so young when starting school xx

Any time is the best time to be pregnant if you're healthy.

I was heavily pregnant over Christmas and cooked a Christmas dinner for 4 adults and a child. Nobody helped.

I've been heavily pregnant over a hot summer and a hot Easter and was fine.

Being pregnant didn't make me feel any different. Just bigger

Our first 3 were Feb & March.

4th born, due 5 days before Christmas but was born 5 days after... Would not recommend! June/July - I would say - are good times to conceive 👌

For me personally never

But it seems like being heavily pregnant during the summer is awful so I'd suggest getting knocked up around July time and popping one out April

o o OO o o

A hot Summer if heavily pregnant is awful. Although anytime can be awful if you have morning sickness or that groin pain thing (forgotten the name of it now).

I’d say March/April is a good time to give birth. Get baby into a routine and hopefully enjoy the warmer weather.

Supposedly if you're born in spring/early summer, you're more likely to have an optimistic approach to life growing up.... I say supposedly

I had a winter, spring and summer baby. Obviously the nicer weather is great once they're born, but being 9 months pregnant in a heatwave is hellish. But they don't stay babies for long. Having a birthday near Christmas is something I feel bad about for our eldest. People are often busy and he waits all year to get two lots of presents in a fortnight.

As for school, it's never done my husband or I any harm. Both of us are the youngest in our school year for the countries we grew up in. I don't think it's a problem for our youngest either. He's a clever sausage and does just fine, even if he is the smallest in his class

Mine is in the middle of August. Growing up, my birthday was usually when we (family) were away on holiday. 😒 Would have been nice to have it at home occasionally.

There is a HUGE difference, yeah - can spot summer-born boys the second they walk into the classroom!

I had a June baby and being 8 months pregnant in may, which is usually pretty hot for a week or 2 was hell. That particular year was 2 weeks of hot hot heat. That being said, Xmas and bday are spread nicely
