I think they open options for those who are particularly cautious to participate is causal oral acts (which is most understandable). Which is great for those people and thus a good invention. However I've never seen one used or been asked to use one in my life. I think for us (like most people) the risk vs enjoyment balance is low risk enough not to use them. Because a lot of this game is a risk assessment. Have absolutely no problem with people who want to use them. If someone wanted me to use one to go down on them I would not see it as ideal but I would give it a try.
