I once played the trombone and was able to hit a low note that was apparently quite rare. I was therefore handed a tuba … it was bigger than me at the time and quite uncool to walk around with so I gave it up.

Too many.

Mainly piano, guitar & drums.

Then lots of spin off instruments from those instruments, like lots of different percussion instruments, bass etc.

I have few instruments I can't really play too. Like harps, koras and dulcimers etc..

.

OP if you're looking at scales on the guitar, have a look at joe robinson on youtube. Very good player and teacher.

I’ve played bass in a couple of bands when younger, now I play classical acoustic guitar - badly. I still have a bass and marshall amp in the loft , it comes out to play after a few bottles of wine

"Pink oboe x"

Does the range of available notes depend on the length? You might be limited to twinkle twinkle little star otherwise.

The trombone is such a cool instrument to play. My daughter played it from age 4 in a band it was much bigger than her. There are some YouTube videos of her age 5/6 doing Xmas songs they are priceless.

Eb tuba started on a French horn when I was younger and ended up on the tuba in secondary school as I 'have the lungs for it'. I can also play a little guitar, piano and I sing a little too, but haven't sung in years, so I dread to think how I sound now.

I would recommend that anyone who wants to learn a musical instrument starts with piano. Electric keyboards are quite cheap and written piano music is the basic format of most instruments. Most instruments, save a few, use the same bass and treble notation and all you need extra to play things like clarinet, flute, brass etc is the knack of the instrument - how to blow, finger positions etc.

Its a great feeling to play live, esp when you get a response from the crowd. Even moreso when members of a band watch you and meet you after. No better feeling than that

Hardware synths and sequencers, Eurorack, drum machines.

I have an assortment of guitars and pedals but can’t really play.

Daft stuff I’ve built and messed about with -

Drones and noise built inside toys, circuit bent stuff, a tongue drum I’ve amped up, electric kalimba, 3 string cigar box guitar - loads of daft stuff.

Phone synths, samplers, virtual modular.

Anything I can chuck through a delay & reverb, basically.

Leading to use a DAW to control it.

Well in a few more years then, you'll be a guitarist! Nothing about it is hard...it's just eight notes in different patterns and shapes

As the great Eric Morecambe once said

" I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily, in the right order" 🤣
