At various points today I've done this to all 3 of my children. Mainly because I love them and want them to know it.

I also do it when I drop my daughter at brownies, but that's mainly to embarrass her and amuse me

I do it with my son everyday and he's young enough to say it back. Give it 5 years it'll be a different story.

I'll also hug my dog and tell him I love him before I leave the house.

My kids - I do every morning, every night and anytime inbetween they will allow me to ( early teens now so depends on their mood). Other than that, it was my friend about two days ago.
