A Question Of Confidence

Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks:

How confident would you rate yourself to be?

For elucidation purposes, I refer to general confidence as opposed to confidence in sexual matters/procuring sexual partners.

I realise that the above question is somewhat ambiguous, as one can be highly confident in some areas of life yet sorely wanting in others, but indulge me nonetheless because I’m offering biscuits 👍🏻

Highly confident in my work place and field of expertise, low confidence in social situations and negative sexual confidence. That about covers it.

Quietly confident in almost all areas of life, partly because at my age I’m long past caring what other people might think, and partly because I’ve made peace with all my flaws and foibles. Xx

Ooh OK then...

I'd say it depends on the day. Can range from a 3 to a 6. But I can fake an 8 or even a 9 when required

I’m not. I just don’t give a f**k 🤷🏽‍♂️

Very partial to a ginger nut, partial to a bit of biccy bribery too, so…

I’ve gotten more confident since hitting my 50s. I’ve found myself asserting my self interest in environments where I would have just kept quiet, tbh I suprised myself.

As someone already said, quietly confident is how I would describe myself.

I don't like being the centre of attention but I don't struggle to talk to people or in most situations.

I have met people though who are enormously confident in their chosen career but their private life is an absolute shambles.

In public they are in charge while in private they have zero control.

For those of you who lack in confidence, do you find yourselves drawn more to (or possibly consciously seek out) partners richer in said quality by way of compensation?

Confidence in terms of believing in myself is 100%. Well, what I mean is, I know if I put my mind to something I can achieve it (within reason).

I couldn't walk on water though, and neither could Jesus..or could he??

Confidence in my sexual attractiveness is subjective. Do I think I'm sexy, sometimes. Do other people fancy me? Some, yes.

Does it mean, I'm always attractive, all the time, to all the people? Coz that's a bit weird to me to feel that. Although its not far off 😉😆

Sexy for me, is a state of mind rather than appearance.

Although, if I try, I can appear sexy.

Does that answer the question?

Yeah, I can FEEL sexy. Do other people fancy me? They have every reason not to.

It's hard for me to convert other people's attraction into believing they might actually take it further. To that point my confidence is very low.

I've had hands between my legs - consensually - and still found myself assuming they're not interested.

This for sure!!! I'm much more confident now. Life is too short worrying about other people opinion etc.

I am who I am if you don't like my unquieish step aside for the others who will be in stitches of laughter.

In general I'm quite a confident person in social situations and meeting new people which I attribute to years of training in martial arts.

Work wise I was very confident untill i took a drastic change in career path. Suddenly saw myself making mistakes and needing help from others a lot more than I was used to. That certainly took its toll on me. 3yrs in now and only just starting to get that confidence back to an extent.

Any hob nobs on offer?

I would describe myself as being quite upbeat and confident in general life, even if I have to fake it until I make it sometimes. Being positive never does anyone any harm.

There are certain situations that make all my confidence instantly evaporate though, one of them being public speaking. Posting on these forums sort of feels like that sometimes.

I am very confident. I can chat to most people and years of professional networking has left me with no fear of working a room full of strangers to find the people on my wavelength.

Work-wise I'm confident though my imposter syndrome does a number on me at times. I have to remind myself that ex-bosses have tried to poach me several times, so I must be OK at the job if they know my performance level and still want to hire me!

Sexually... nope. Very little confidence. Otherwise yes, I know who I am and I'm confident in myself.
