Probably something fried. But by 18 I was living alone and could cook a cracking Sunday dinner or mince and dumplings and still do.

Yes, my mum taught me to make raspberry buns and cornflake biscuits on the same day.

I don't know how old I was but I had to stand on a high stool to reach the counter - guessing I was 5 or 6.

couple, us we him her.

Can't remember exactly what but my mum walked out on us when I was still under 10, I used to cook my dad's dinner ready for him when he got home from work and a Sunday roast at the weekend.

I was just a wee boy still, mind you I'm not sure how good it was pretty sure dad only ate it to be polite

Usual fair was boiled potato carrots cabbage and tinned ham, not exactly a culinary masterpiece.

Somewhere In The Ether…

Toast.

Not in a toaster mind you; rather, under the grill.

It might not sound a big deal but everyone has to start somewhere, right and my mum taught me to watch it so that it didn’t burn.

….this was last week 👍🏻

Cheese and potato pie, and also a plum crumble. Both were taught at school cookery lesson. Age 11.

At home the first dish I was taught was italian meatballs, taught by my Italian grandfather. Age about 12/13.

My first boyfriend's mum taught me a lot about cooking and I'm so grateful to her for also teaching me life lessons. Age 16.

I was coming to say the same!

Cheese and potato pie, but I was taught by my mother.

Also it was Apple crumble for me.

I still cook both of this day! 😊
