Lads, Does this site ever take its toll on your mental health? If so what do you do to manage it?

With all the rejection and radio silence you start to think if you are good enough sometimes.

Maybe it’s just me

My mental health has been shot for years.

Don't overthink the no replies and radio silence most women and couples on here get so many messages I doubt they find the time to get through them all.

Like real life dating you need to be in the right place at the right time with all the planets aligned.

Try not to take it to heart 🙂

Nope

My mental health is on me

It's no ones fault by my own mis-wiring

I try to own it and manage it, some days better than others

I think allowing the inputs of strangers on a swingers site access to it is dangerous

That's not to be dismissive of others own mh journey, just my take

All I would say is if you think it is having an effect, take a back step from the site for a while and allow yourself to mentally regroup

It used to a while ago. But I learned to acknowledge and know my worth and that comes from within, not from external validation. Rejection sucks. It’s hard. But strangers not fancying me doesn’t make me less of a catch or less attractive or less of a good person. You need to love yourself so that it doesn’t matter so much when others don’t love you. If you’re looking for others to validate that you’re enough, this site and most places will be a rough ride.

No, it doesn’t affect it, but my mental health & mental wellbeing are both solid. If yours isn’t I think it’s pretty normal for sites like this, tinder even Facebook, Instagram to have an impact on you, if you feel that things aren’t working out as well as you had hoped, while being bombarded with content of what you want and or/others living the life you hoped for.

Just remember, none of it real - perception is everything

Please do not let this site let your mental health suffer. It really is not worth it.

It is very difficult for men as you out number the women by such a high majority (I would love to know the figures) that you are going to have no's blocks and no replies because they get so many and can't keep up with response.

The best place to meet some great people are at clubs and then connect on here.

If it is effecting it you may need to have a break and step away

Nah I'm not invested enough to let a website affect my mental health. Must be hard on those seeking constant validation though.

Mental health shows itself in all kinds of ways not people just seeking constant validation.

Sometimes people just have to have a dig at other people for no reason, who knows why people do the things they do maybe it makes them feel a little bit better?

I think most people, at least at some point in their lives, struggle with validation and self-image. Guys generally are bad at talking about this sort of thing as well, so - bit of a double whammy.

Social media (including fabs) has been shown to have strongly negative influences on mental health over time, and this will be felt more strongly by single people than by couples who have each other for support and intimacy and whatever else (assuming the relationship is healthy, of course).

I don't really find that not getting responses affects my mental health anymore - I have relationships now, so this is just a bit of a bonus - but I have found the forums to have hit my mental health every once in a while.

The only real solution is to walk away from it for a bit - go do something else, give yourself some time to process and some "wins" from something you are/can get good at and that doesn't rely on others (or randomness).

I really feel for the genuine guys on here as it’s tough going for them.

The women are inundated with messages which is nice but it means trying to reply too all is so time consuming.

Don’t let this site affect your mental health. It’s not worth it, don’t take it as rejection because it’s not personal.

Keep your chin up 😘

A nice rock

I've never really experienced the no response issue to be honest OP.

But I've had times where I was bored or unhappy with stuff going on here, in those times I tool a break or left completely until I wanted to come back on my own terms.

I'd give the sane advice to anyone especially if it's affecting your health

When it comes to mental health mate you need to pull the root out of what’s causing it like for me drinking was a massive trigger so I stopped I used to be so anxious I used to be awake for like 3 days and start hallucinating and shit but I realised drinking was my trigger so I got rid of it best decision Iv ever done

Ever need to chat about anything message me bud

You ain’t alone

Those who ignore me have no effect at all, but a few who became close have messed with my mental health.
