Manchester (she/her)

Instead of using a word like Stephen every time I talk to or about you, I use a little shortcut word like "he". He is an example of a pronoun.

Can it be used to talk about things or just people?

Hi, Steven. They are basically words used to describe either individuals or groups of people, rather than using their name or names. If you're a bit quirky or like to be mysterious, "they" or "them" seem popular.

Yes. In a language like English, we usually use "it" for things, or "they" in the plural. (Although when we don't know if someone is a boy or a girl, we use they for that one person. That goes back to Shakespeare, which you'll read when you go to bigger school).
