so was chatting to someone on here convo was going great, loads of long paragraphs for messages. however now it feels like im pulling my teeth and my gut says she is not as interested anymore

is this common on here?

I am guilty of doing this to people.

I come on here and when I'm in a chatty mood I have great conversations with someone/people but then the next day my mood changes and I'm distracted/stressed/tired and the conversations just never flow the same or at all.

Yeah it happens. Don't worry about it. Has happened to me and will continue to happen. I think after a while you run out of things to say to one another.

I mean you can always chat again later on to reignite the convo, but, if it continues to feel like you're putting the effort in and getting nothing in return. I wouldn't bother again.

We tend to move chats away from here as it’s easier to chat three ways on other platforms and it also feels like you’ve got their attention away from FAB where messages are probably coming from loads of other people.

We’ve started chatting to a few women on here and then our message gets lost in the abyss 😬

Common?

Depends on the individual. It's probably more common with vague profiles that give little info or visuals as it can be difficult to think of things to say, given you initially have so little to go on.

I generally avoid those personally, as they're more likely in my experience to disappear or be less committed to conversations.

Background: in my humble experience women like to refer back to my profile for a variety of reasons — to peruse, to refer, to whet their curiosities etc. And I do the same to theirs because it maintains my interest and intrigue.

In doing so it maintains the flow of the conversation because we speak about (amongst other things unrelated to our profiles) the nuances in our profiles and the photographs within. There's always something that crops up in conversation.

You, OP, have a rather austere profile with very little to keep the intrigue and mystique flowing. That's not a criticism or denouncement to your profile but just one observation why some conversations fizzle out. Indeed conversations fizzle out for a variety reasons. My anecdote is just one example.

I would say it does happen often but isn't the same outside if fab too. I know myself some days I am more talkative than others or maybe just really enjoying a conversation with someone else or just distracted with life. Doesn't mean that I'm not interested but conversations naturally tend to ebb and flow.
