What are people's opinions on being exposed on social media for being on this site without your spouse's knowledge?

Llanelli

Don't cheat and it wouldn't happen, I'd not post it on social media but I'd tell them to come clean to partner as it's not right to keep from them and I couldn't sit back and just say nothing if they didn't.

It is not for me to judge especially jot knowing the circumstances. To answer your question, anyone threatening to do that just to be vindictive (and particularly if you have been honest with them) is unacceptable imho.

"What are people's opinions on being exposed on social media for being on this site without your spouse's knowledge?"

If it’s not illegal, you’ve not incited hate or harm, then the only issue is morality.

I don’t think it’s appropriate to do that at all. Reminds me of the Ashley Maddison scandal. Whilst they had betrayed trust they’d not committed a crime so it was wrong to do that

The member had mentioned they didn't care about others status single or otherwise on their profile.

So I was simply honest with them. They then messaged back with their disgust at me and blatantly said they'd screenshot the convo and were going to post it on social in the hope that my wife found out.

I definitely didn't provoke.

If this is exactly what happened ( irrespective of my own opinions about partners not knowing as I am not here to judge anyone) then it is a vile thing to threaten to do and says a lot about them tbh.

Report them. It's against site rules to credibly threaten to expose someone .

My personal opinion is that people should keep their noses out of someone else's business.

Always be wary of people. Some delight in causing distress and some are on some sort of moral crusade

Sounds like someone betrayed before on a mission to go after all people that cheat

A bit mental if you ask me but also they’re outing themselves as a site user so I doubt they’d do it

I did report them.

I deleted what pictures I'd posted in the conversation stream too, but I have no idea if I was quick enough. 🤷‍♂️🤞

Two sides to every story and naming them on your profile is wrong..

This.

For the record though, it's also against site rules to name and shame in status updates.

Personally I wouldn't out someone, but if it happened, I wouldn't be sympathetic either, so long as it was basic (he/she is cheating) and nothing specific.

No ones detailed sex life should be exposed publicly, and people who do that shit need serious consequences

Things happen and no one should be taking screen shots of your profile and threatening to put it on social media.

That’s unacceptable behaviour, a lot people find it hard to mind their own business.

It is wrong to screenshot your profile and private messages and pictures.

However, you must know deep down no matter how careful you are there's always that chance thqt your partner will find out. Cheating comes with risks whether online or meeting someone in a pub etc. You decided to disclose the information, making it their business, OP 🤷‍♀️

I agree with others, it's v wrong of them to try and threaten you /out you.

Maybe they wrote the line about not being bothered about status, so married /attached people will be upfront, then they can sting them. It could be a spouse that's been cheated on looking to expose others.

However actions do have consequences, so if you're happy to meet others and cheat on your partner, you have to accept that it may all come out and you'll be found out by your other half.

Be v careful what you share /put online.
