My dear gentle-fellows, cads, chappies, equerries, fellows, chums and those princes amongst men...

When you shave (your face) do you shave with haste because it's a chore, wasting no time to get the job done, or do you take your time and shave with care and precision?

Also, how often do you cut and nick yourself in the process? Every time or rarely?

I've had much practice and can now shave my face quickly and thoroughly and very rarely damage myself. I use Hydro 5 razors and shave under a hot shower, usually thinking about other less mundane matters.

I have to shave every day if I want a smooth face.

I use an electric shaver for every day use because using a blade every day hurts and makes my skin really sore.

I do enjoy taking my time using a blade on special occasions though to get that extra smooth feeling.

Proper wet shave with good Floris soap takes about 5 minutes. Never get cuts. Use a RazorPit post-shave to keep blade clean and sharp - blades last weeks.

It's a chore. I have varied over the years with a beard, although currently shaven. Every two days, or I'm as sensitive as a baby's arse 🤓

I think I nick myself about once every five shaves, or thereabouts. 🩸

I have to take my time, shaving around my goatee line, especially under the chin. Occasionally I like to go for a hot towel, straight razor shave at the barber shop.

I take my time, usually don't have my specs on. Rarely nick myself.

Every 2 weeks, trip to the Turkish barber for a bit on manpering. So relaxing, I usually fall asleep while he's got the cut throat out....

Have a beard and just trim daily with a wet razor and no cream. Never nick, moisturise then wink at myself pulling finger triggers

I haven’t wet shaved since I was about 25. I now have extreeeeeeemly sexy designer stubble and I can’t shave because so many ladies have begged me not to.

The real reason is because I have the most ridiculously sensitive skin and I get razor rash, ingrown hairs and spots. Shaving can fack right orff.

I wet shave my face.. always have..I do it about twice a week.. with a bic disposal single blade..I generally don't really take time to do it and not to bothered if it's that smooth.. however if I'm getting trannied up.. totally different brand new razor and really take my time making sure it's totally smooth..

I have a massive beard, but I do shave my head and neck and occasionally tidy up the facial plumage.

I kind of treat it as a ritual and a bit of an opportunity to look after myself. Get a good quality razor (not any of these multi blade plastic bits of crap), a proper shaving brush, a quality puck of shaving soap. Turn it into something you can enjoy.

I dry shave every 4 or 5 days with a Bic 2 throwaway razor, cheap as chips and takes about 5 minutes

I shave probably once a week and it can be a chore so something I try to get done quickly but without leaving patches. I do have spots that just seem prone knicks and probably need to take more care in those areas 🤷‍♂️

I have had to shave nearly everyday for work since 16 .

Interesting chat especially around electric razors any good ones found ?

The price of blades is extortionate for razors

I can totally appreciate that it's not something most men look forward to. Shaving can be a chore, I agree.

I trim up the beard eges regularly and every 3 to 4 months have a clean shave.

I use a cut throat and take my time. Haven't cut myself with it in years now

Avoid it when I can as it just absolutely ravages the skin.

When I do wet shave, best to do two days before the thing I’m going to then again before going.

Wet shave and Gillette Mach 3 Nivea sensitive shaving foam

Oh god no, I should be allowed a lethal instrument like that. I tend to use an electric trimmer, close cut blades, then use a foil attachment for finishing.
